We recently organised a 3-day trip for a private guest to the Central African Republic. We began in the riverside capital, Bangui, which sits on the border of the DRC. The colourful capital, bustles with busy markets and roadside stalls, meanwhile the nearby river throngs with life too, as fishing boats head in and out of town. After taking in some of the key sites, we headed inland, through the rainforest landscapes and countryside, taking in scenes of rural Central African life, rarely seen by visitors. We then visited Boali Falls, a large network of waterfalls, which plunge more than 50 metres down to the gorge below, surrounded by rainforest views. The trip then concluded back in the capital. We recently teamed up with travel personality @leeabbamonte to organise a group trip to Sri Lanka. This eight-day journey soaked up a rich blend of culture, natural beauty and wildlife encounters – visiting the country’s cities, rainforest, beautiful coastline, rural communities and wildlife sanctuaries. A fabulous trip and made extra special by being able to spend 8 days in the company of Lee - a wonderful host. We’re organising further trips with Lee to North Africa and Central Asia later this year – to find out more, visit his website (clickable in our bio) - / If you would like to find out more about collaboration opportunities or any trips we run, please email – [email protected] 📸: @leeabbamonte ————————————————————————————— #srilanka #srilankatourism #srilankadiaries #srilankalife #adventuretravel

Fresh photos for our 10-day Spring group trip to Afghanistan. We have 3 more departures along this route, which are available to book now – in October and November this year and April 2027. Starting and finishing in Kabul, this trip goes on to visit Bamian in the Central Highlands of Afghanistan, home of the Buddha niches and the beautiful lakes of Band e Amir. We then cross to the north of the country, to visit the ancient city of Balkh and the new city of Mazar e Sharif, with its impressive and photogenic Shrine of Hazrat Ali. Finally, we visit the ancient Silk Road city of Herat, which contains the most complete set of historic buildings in the country and is seen as the cultural capital of Afghanistan. If the trip is in the winter, we will try to watch a Buzkashi match, the famous Afghan sport played on horseback with a dead goat as a ball. In February 2027 we are launching a new group trip to Chad. This 17-day expedition ventures into and around the Ennedi Plateau, exploring some of the most remote and striking landscapes in the Sahara. Starting in the capital N’Djamena, the journey crosses the Sahel before heading deep into the Ennedi Mountains, where we explore canyons, rock art and the Guelta d’Archei. Continuing north, we will traverse dune systems to reach the remote Ounianga Lakes, a unique UNESCO-listed landscape. As well as remarkable scenery, the trip also offers insight into nomadic life in one of Africa’s least visited regions. You can book now via the link below (clickable in our bio) or email - [email protected] - for further details. /itinerary/chad-group-tour/ ————————————————————————————— #chad #visitchad #adventuretravel #sahara #sahel

Brand new photos from our recent Afghanistan Central Route – a 16-day adventure through visiting some of Afghanistan’s key cities, remote landscapes and an array of fascinating historic sites. Our next departure, in October is full, but we have now added a new set of dates in April 2027, which is available to book now. We began our recent trip in Pakistan, visiting Islamabad and Peshawar, before flying to Kabul. After exploring the capital, we headed to the stunning Bamian Province and the Band e Amir Lakes. From there we headed west to Ghor Province and on to the Minaret of Jam, set amongst the sparsely populated mountains. We journeyed on to the wonderful historic city of Herat, then looped south, visiting Lashkar Gah, Kandahar and Ghazni, before finishing with more time in Kabul. If the security situation allows it and the land border is open, future trips will include crossing the Khyber Pass from Peshawar to Kabul, rather than flying. The border was closed for this recent trip. This year we’re organising two group trips to the phenomenal North of Pakistan, to take in some of the most impressive mountainous scenery found anywhere on earth. Our first one departs soon, but we now have a second departure in September, which is available to book now. Over 14-days you will head on an epic road-trip up into one of the most beautiful corners of Asia, a region of enormous peaks, forests, stunning lakes and glaciers. We drive a section of the jaw-dropping Karakoram Highway, right up to the Chinese border at Khunjerab. Along the way we visit Skardu, Gilgit and the wonderful Hunza Valley, visiting historic sits and ancient forts, before continuing on to the jagged mountains around Passu, walk across the Husseini rope-bridge and spend time at Attabad Lake. After the Chinese border, we head over the Shandur Pass – home to the world’s highest polo ground, and drop into the lush Chitral Valley and continue on to the Kalasha Valleys. It’s here we have a fantastic cultural experience, meeting the animist and pagan tribes who live in the region. Our trip concludes in the buzzing Silk Road city of Peshawar, famed both historically and to this day, for its wonderful bazaars, markets and street food. You can book on our September departure now via the link below (clickable in our bio) or email – [email protected] – for further details. /itinerary/hindu-kush-karakorum/ 📸: @leeabbamonte & @davidpharrison

More photos from our Spring group trip to Mauritania, where over 13-days we immersed ourselves into the Saharan nation. These photos are from Chinguetti, Ouadane and Terjit, three key sites on the adventure – we also explored Mauritania’s vast dunes, mountain ranges, coastline and other historic sites. Ouadane was once an important part of the trans-Saharan trade route. It was also the starting point of pilgrimage and religious centre of the region, with ancient mosques and remains of the Old Town built along the hills. Chinguetti is historic centre of Islamic teaching and often coined the “seventh holy city of Islam”, containing 12 libraries, filled with ancient books, and old mosques and minarets in the desert. It’s here we went on a camel trek, experiencing a rather large sandstorm on the journey. Also featured in these photos is Terjit, an oasis town where we enjoyed its palm lined streams and dipped our feet in natural pools. Aside from these sites, we also explored the capital Nouakchott, had chance to ride the famous Iron Ore Train, visited the Eye of Africa rock formations, along with many other stops along the way. Our next group departure to Mauritania is in November/December this year. You can book now via the link below (clickable in our bio) or email – [email protected] – for further details. /destinations/mauritania/ 📸: Madelene Madsen and Ann Tann

It’s now only 4 months to go until we begin our latest trekking adventure into Afghanistan’s Wakhan Corridor. This epic 21-day trek takes you into one of the most remote parts of Central Asia – a land of vast valleys, enormous mountains and large expanses of pristine nature. This remarkable region, sandwiched between Pakistan, Tajikistan and China, is also home to some of the least visited nomadic communities on earth – the Kyrgyz of the Afghan Pamir and the Wakhi nomads – who we meet on our journey. You begin the trip in Kabul, before heading on a road trip through the heart of the Hindu Kush mountains to the Wakhan Corridor. We join our guides here and trek up to the summer grazing grounds of Chaqmaqtin. We spend time amongst the nomadic communities and enjoy large areas of unspoiled nature. This is a region, which played an important role on the ancient Silk Road, and you pass historic sites along the way - including tombs, Buddhist engravings and rock petroglyphs. This remarkable trek gives you an insight into a part of the world, which very few international visitors get chance to see. You can join us on this physical challenge and awesome cultural experience this summer, by booking via the link below (clickable in our bio) or email – [email protected] – for further details. /itinerary/trek-the-wakhan/ 📸: Jørgen Johansen ————————————————————————————— #afghanistan #afghan #wakhan #trekking #trekkingtour

There are now direct flights to Socotra from Jeddah, in Saudi Arabia, and we have 3 group departures available to book to the stunning Yemeni island over the next 12 months. Socotra is known as the Galapagos of the east, due to its immense biodiversity and we have 2 group trips visiting in November this year and one in April 2027. The island is a nature lovers’ paradise, with a vast array of unique plant life, wildlife and marine life, some of which are only found on the island. It also has an epic range of landscapes, containing pristine white-sand beaches, large mountain ranges, vast canyons, areas of desert, cave networks, tall sand dunes and dense forests. Over 8-days we soak up all these wonderful features. We also camp in gorgeous settings, take a boat trip to explore the coastline and visit its marine reserves. We have chance to swim in the crystal blue ocean and in fresh water pools in its interior, plus there’s the opportunity to go hiking (for those who wish), bird watching and hopefully spot more of the island’s wildlife. To join us on any of the three upcoming group trips, you can book via the link below (clickable in our bio) or email – [email protected] – fort further details or to find out about our private trips to the island. /itinerary/socotra/ 📸: Jason Affolder, Michael Novins, Amy Yu, Gabriella Henriksdottier ————————————————————————————— #socotra #socotragrouptours #socotra_island #yemen #adventuretravel

After a brief pause over the winter, we resumed trips to both mainland Yemen and Socotra in late March and these photos are from our Spring group trip to the Hadramout. On the 7-day road trip through the mainland, we ventured into the remote heart of the country. We began in the city of Seiyun, which we have time to explore, before visiting the Tomb of Hud - the most famous Sufi saint - and on to the ancient Islamic teaching town, Tarim. We then explored the gorgeous Wadi Hadramout, stopping in the town of Shibam, known as the Manhattan of Arabia, due to its grand mud-build skyscrapers - a UNESCO World Heritage site. It’s at this point we crossed into the Wadi Dawan, a stunning valley home to historic mud-built towns and dramatic cliff faces, likened to the Grand Canyon. It’s in this area we visit the multi-coloured palace of Beit Buqshan and the village of Haid Al Jazil, perched high on a rocky plateau in the wadi. We then drove through the harsh desert to the country’s Arabian Sea coastline, visiting the old port city of Al Mukalla and the fishing town, Al Ghayda, stopping at picturesque remote beaches along the way. The trip then came to an end at the border of Oman. /itinerary/yemen/ Our next group departures are available to book now (links in our bio) – in November 2026 and January 2027. We’ll also be returning in April 2027 – to register an interest, please email – [email protected] 📸: Ade Summers —————————————————————————————- #yemen #yemengroutrip #adventuretravel #yemeni
