here is a photo my mom took of me in a petrified forest as i stood upon rock that used to be oozing magma. felt pretty solid on that January afternoon but it would have been quite a different story 3 million years ago! how comforting to remember that everything changes eventually. thank you mom for this wonderful picture that makes me look so miniature amid nature's vast expanse.
I think we overuse the word sweet as a positive descriptor. There are a lot of people and things I love that I'd describe as savory, tart, bitter/salty, in a seinfeldian way, whole grain, citrusy... This is my.move against Big Sugar to take back the rest of the flavor spectrum in describing stuff we like.
