For 2026, the Washington Spirit are celebrating their city’s world-famous cherry blossom trees with a new primary kit created through a modern art lens. Designed in abstract, digi-style art, the jersey’s print is formed by a bunch of tiny dots coming together to create a larger display complemented by a dark green Potomac River motif. A deep teal and lighter shades of green are joined by brightly colored cherry blossoms to present a palette that feels authentic to the trees, the team and icons of the city.
Each kit reflects the incredible stories, colors and landscapes that make up the NWSL, with designs centering around club roots, “if you know, you know” elements of the club’s neighborhood and fans, and a future-focused approach honoring a moment in the team’s history.
Some kits also incorporate an additional design filter — such as a club anniversary or purpose-driven community moment — to give them an extra, curated touch that represents their city. Many also feature an “outer pride,” a saying or logo selected by the team to deepen its connection with fans and the community.
Each kit features Nike’s sports-performance apparel innovation, Dri-FIT ADV, which provides reinforcement, mobility and breathability where it’s needed most, allowing athletes to run and cut with confidence.
Special thank you to everyone at @washingtonspirit for their partnership in making this one a reality. Also massive shoutout to the @nikefootball design team for their amazing kits this season. This one means a lot to me as this was my foray into on-pitch kit design. 😊✨
