Well, y'all, One Sleep until the Greatest Party on Rollerskates takes over the: convention space, streets and OF COURSE the Sk8parks of the Vegas Valley! The insanity that is the build/load-in day is well underway. As usual I want to thank the amazing people that make RollerCon possible: the volunteers, the vendors, the amazing women who thunk it up and make it happen every year and the ATTENDEES without whom none of it would be possible. Where DOES the time go? In one week it'll ALMOST all be over! But not quite. There are still some fun, RollerCon things to do if you know the right people. So I live here, I don't sk8 derby and never have, yet Pic 1 is just SOME of my sk8 shirts. If I ever got a shirt from you, I tagged you. Pic 2 is from the 3rd year of the RCSPT in 2009 w/my infant son. Look for him @ RC he's now 6" taller than me with blond hair to the middle of his back in his 16th year of RC. Who's down for a mini bout on the roller rink portion of the PPR? Did you know that I was the first person to EVER sk8 the RollerCon Spine Ramp? I was. Video from 2018 before the skatelite was even on to prove it. Do you have any rollerskate tattoos? Let me see em. Mine are ALMOST life-size and take up both of my forearms. I was also doing doubles runs/tricks back in the 90s with my skateboard homie, Kirk on my 10' tall vert ramp. I INTENTIONALLY waited until now to post because my teeny little slice of RollerCon, the RCSPT, IS a nighttime affair, y'all. It's 8pm-10pm nightly. I'll be rolling out nightly right around now to the respective sk8parks. So, an evening post. To where shall I be rolling out in two weeks? Why that will be my personal favorite park in Nevada: Anthem. Happy Saturday and Happy GO SKATE DAY! Another PSA from your Friendly Neighborhood Outdoor Skate Park Tour Host: I've included a few customizable lock screen options from the Amazing, Creative and Thoughtful Folks @ RollerCon for you to steal + make use of. I did NOT make these! But they were made for our collective use. You do NOT want to lose your phone at anytime but especially not at RollerCon. Pick a friend who'll be with you during RollerCon and put their contact info on the lock screen. Hopefully you won't need it but if you do, you'll be thanking the RollerCon Goddesses for having thought of this already. I actually leave mine on my phone with my wife and son's numbers on it year round. I'm old, I have CTE, I smoke cannabis and take a few prescriptions so the chance of ME losing my phone is probably higher than the national average. So, 3 weeks from today will be Stop 4 of the RCSPT: @craigranchlv the Largest Skatepark in Nevada @ just over 60,000 sq. ft. It has EVERYTHING! I included a video of us from 2 years ago @ Cranch in the biggest pool there. There were a few of us there that night. There usually are. Traditionally Friday and Saturday (Hollywood and Craig) are the most well attended evenings for the RCSPT but ALL of the parks are dope or I wouldn't put them on the tour. Does anyone have any questions for me either about the RCSPT specifically (I definitely can answer those), RollerCon in general? (I probably can answer those + if I can't I can find the answers) or Vegas questions (I've lived here for 19 years now) throw em at me and I'll try to answer ASAP. Ok. That's it. Go Skate.
