🌈 We welcome the statement issued for the first time in history by the Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities, and Social Security on the occasion of IDAHOBIT 2026. The commitment expressed by the Government of Nepal to end hate, violence, and discrimination against gender and sexual minorities is an important step toward building an inclusive, equitable, and just society. We hope that the equality, dignity, and human rights guaranteed by the Constitution will be fully implemented in practice. Stronger collaboration among the state, civil society, and communities is essential to ensure respect, safety, and equal access for all. #IDAHOBIT2026 #EqualityForAll #LGBTIQRights #HumanRights #Nepal

Today on the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia, we reaffirm our commitment to stand united against discrimination, violence, exclusion, and inequality faced by the LBT community. This day is observed every year on May 17 in remembrance of the historic decision made by the World Health Organization in 1990 to remove homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses. Since then, May 17 has become a global symbol of the movement against discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. Today is not only a celebration, but also a reminder that everyone has the right to live safely, freely, and with dignity in their own identity. Therefore, let us raise our voices against hatred, discrimination, and violence toward the LGBTQIA+ community and observe this day with solidarity and pride. आज International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia #idahobit #lgbtqiaplus #equality #humanrights #lovei̇slove

UFC conducted a documentary screening and dialogue in Koshi Province (Itahari) with 22 LBT+ participants, creating an exclusive space to discuss menstruation within the community, particularly among trans men and LBT individuals. 🌈🩸 What stood out most was that many participants shared they were learning and openly discussing this issue for the very first time. The dialogue became a powerful space for reflection, learning, and sharing lived experiences that are often overlooked in mainstream menstrual conversations. We were also joined by 3 journalists, who expressed that the session was deeply insightful for them and committed to continuing to write and raise awareness on these issues moving forward. Conversations like these remind us why inclusive menstrual health discussions matter. ✨ #lbtmenstruation #menstrualjustice #lbtrights

Unity for Change warmly welcomes the Government of Nepal’s decision to establish the “Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities, and Social Security” through the recent restructuring of ministries. The explicit inclusion of gender and sexual minorities within the ministry’s name and mandate marks a significant and historic recognition of communities that have long advocated for visibility, dignity, and representation within state structures. This decision further strengthens Nepal’s commitment to the constitutional values of equality, inclusion, dignity, and social justice. It also sends an important message that the identities, experiences, and rights of gender and sexual minority communities are being formally acknowledged within national governance frameworks. Unity for Change views this decision as a positive step toward building a more inclusive, equitable, and rights-based society. We express our sincere appreciation to the Government of Nepal for this historic initiative and hope it will lead to meaningful implementation and lasting change for the communities concerned. #lbtrights #genderjustice #nepal

We sincerely welcome the Government of Nepal’s reaffirmation of its commitment towards the rights, inclusion, and empowerment of gender and sexual minorities through the address delivered by the Rt. Hon. President Ramchandra Paudel to the joint session of the Federal Parliament. For equality and human rights to truly advance in Nepal, such commitments must move beyond speeches and translate into policies, implementation, and tangible change experienced by the community. #lbtrights #genderjustice #nepallbtrights

As a bisexual woman, it is quite difficult for me to openly talk about my sexuality in society. This is mainly because there are still very few people who truly understand this topic. In many situations, people tend to misunderstand or even make fun of it, which makes me feel uncomfortable and hesitant to express myself. Because of this, I am not very open about my sexuality, but internally, I continue to accept and respect my identity while moving forward in my own way. - Laphuti Sherpa ( Bisexual women ) #lbtvoices #lbtleadership #inclusivecare #lbtyouth #unityforchange
