Families come in all forms and this week, we’ve been celebrating the people, cultures and connections that make them so special.
We know strong families build strong communities. That’s why our Child, Youth and Family Services provide support, education and advocacy to help families through life’s challenges.
One of the ways we bring people together is through our weekly Intergenerational Playgroup at Ngutungka West Lakes @charlessturtsa every Friday, creating space for little ones, parents, carers and older generations to connect.
This week’s session was filled with plenty of smiles and laughter.

Together, we can.
I never expected that joining a social group would change my life the way it has.
After losing my husband, I spent many years living on my own on a 30 acre block. My children were busy working and without being able to drive, it was easy to feel stuck at home.
That changed when a friend encouraged me to join UnitingSA’s “Spice Girls” group and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
Now my days are filled with connection, laughter and shared meals with women from all different backgrounds.
I love the Spice Girls. Being part of this group has given me that sense of belonging again and that means everything.
