Last minute issue with the red paint caused me to make a drastic change, instead of having a primary colour for my odst, ive changed direction ajd will now feature it in raw aluminium as its primary, ajd to really put my best into it, Ive etched a custom emblem into it, embedding it into the metal. This is something I was very self conscious about, ajd worried I wouldn't be able to pull off, its now 4am posting this ajd i am ecstatic with tue result! Full metal ODST update, the front panel of the suit has been assembled and works perfectly, full range of motion ajd entirely adjustable, ajd even folds up for transport just as I hoped it would! The con crunch is real!!! This one phase was a bit touch and go, but I managed it, and I couldn't be happier with the result, now I have to make the back armour panels, spine plate assembly, ajd rig it all together and get to the thighs and belt rig, then take everything apart again just to paint her up and cover all the pretty metal I took some inspiration from "the expanse" when trying to work out what style i wanted to go with under tue armour, and wound up using an old gilet which might he a tad hot for a summer con and needs the bottom trimming in a bit, I may swap out for something lighter in insulation but the lofted look really sells it so I guess we'll see how it goes! Shoulder armour is still in the design phase, but whether or not ill have time to make any before mcm london comic con is anyone's guess Wish me luck!!! #cosplay #halo #odst #scifi #concrunch

After months of planning and sewing I've finally brought my halo flood spore to life! It's been so fun to try making something new and makes for an interesting prop that keeps me hands free while doing photography at conventions He's ended up as 88cm from head to.... End of tentacles? With wire in the front legs and feelers for fun posing! Belt plate prototype, complete This pressed far far better than I expected, im definitely feeling things progressing much faster, this plate will be riveted to a kydex backer with loops to hand the crotch plate from and belt clips to slip over the duty belt allowing for quick and easy removal when required Getting this much detail from 2mm aluminium in such a small area really surprised me, and I couldn't be happier with the results Next on the list will be the tassets for the hip armour, giving the more classic look to the suit, while still fitting with the modern infinite styling, so im going to mash in some of the more rakshasa design lines and mirage from halo infinite's armour customisation, referencing the concept art as well as in game assets This belt plate was actually styled off of the Helldivers 2 ODST warbond crossover, as its the most recent itteration of the armour we've seen and pays great attention to detail, a truly beautiful design that pays homage and respect to its original. My new ODST suit progress update, the abdomen plating is now ready for expansion, ill be adding patched and straps over the front of the side plates and backing with kydex and a lasercut eva foam pad, and will use buckes spaced to allow swapping in a molle placard for when extra storage is needed, The front assembly plating is pretty much complete, soon ill be moving on to the belt rig and working out my webbing harness to mount everything cleanly as well as making it cross compatible with plate carriers This system will have the most flexibility in can incorporate for user comfort but also for packing down for transport, allowing the end user to attend as many events as they'd like without needing a giant suitcase to lug everything wherever they need to go #halo #cosplay #odst #tactical #makersgonnamake

The prototype of my new odst chest plate has reached the physical iteration proccess. As with my other work this is 2mm aluminium press formed on a homemade press now yielding up to 50 tonnes of comoressive force, then hand trimmed and finish hammered, lets see how far I can push this! Improvements to the design will be made, and my tooling needs a redesign, one of the dies i made for this did not survive ajd must be remodelled to remove the design flaws Im blown away (let me know if you understood that reference) by how well this came out, ajd it fits comfortably on the chest without getting in the way of moving my arms which was a big worry Overall this was a success and a giant leap towards meeting my high bar of acceptable quality, more to come... #halocosplay #odst #armour #metal #progress
