Community clubs are being asked to think bigger, with tighter budgets and more pressure on every decision.
Thatās why practical upgrades matter.
At @skewencc , a new Solar PV installation is already helping reduce energy costs and support the long-term future of the clubhouse.
When funding, clear advice and the right delivery come together, projects like this become far more achievable.
Proud to work alongside @cricket.wales on projects that help clubs lower running costs, improve facilities and plan ahead with more confidence. āļøš
Couldnāt have asked for better weather whilst filming in Wales on Monday āļø
We were on site at Skewen Cricket Club capturing a case study on the Solar PV project we delivered there last year.
Great to spend time with Sian from @skewencc and Lucy from @cricket.wales , talking through the journey behind the project and the wider impact itās having.
Even better to have the sun shining while capturing some really positive conversations and a brilliant story to share.
Looking forward to sharing the final video soon. Stay tuned! š„
Updated shots of our air source heat pump project at Hawthorne Leisure for Clade Engineering.
When we were last on site, it was missing some of the finishing touches - the lagging, fencing and final paintwork that really bring it all together.
Now complete, the installation not only performs as it should, but looks the part too - tidy, well-finished and neatly integrated into the site, supporting more efficient and sustainable operation of their swimming facilities.
156m down at Newport Cricket Club š·
Weāre drilling a borehole to support a new sprinkler system installation, helping the club draw and reuse on-site water for pitch irrigation.
Itās a long-term solution that gives them greater control over their water supply, improving efficiency while reducing reliance on the grid.
With the season just around the corner and the sunshine making an appearance, itās great to see this one progressing well - and weāre looking forward to seeing it all come together.
The best decisions are usually made standing in the space itself.
One of us looks quite pleased with what heās seeing. The other looks like heās already working through the next five questions. Probably a fair reflection of how most site visits go.
Thereās a lot to like about working in breweries.
Theyāre busy, practical environments where the building has to support production properly. Heating, hot water, ventilation, and power all need to work reliably, and any upgrade has to be planned around day-to-day operations.
Thatās part of what makes these projects interesting. Every site has its own setup, constraints, and priorities, so the right approach is rarely off the shelf.
Weāre pleased to be playing our part in Bristolās independent brewery scene, supporting sites with practical, efficient building services upgrades suited to how the business actually runs.
If youāre a brewery looking at energy-efficient improvements, early planning makes a big difference.
UES Bake Off? Weāre here for it šŖ
Tabatha, Jason (with help from his wife š), and Janson treated the team to a selection of home-baked goodies ā brownies, cookie dough brownies and rice crispy cakes.
Safe to say, we tucked in⦠probably a bit too early. But itās never too early for something sweet, right?
By the time this photo was taken, most of them had already disappeared š
Big thanks to all three ā they tasted as good as they looked.
Now, the important question⦠what are you picking first? š¤·
After vs Before š
Weāre currently on site at an industrial facility, upgrading the ventilation in one of the buildings used to store vehicles.
Spaces like these can quickly suffer from poor air quality if airflow isnāt properly managed. Fumes and stagnant air can build up, creating an environment that isnāt safe or compliant for day-to-day operations.
Our team transformed what was once just window space into a dedicated ventilation system, installing large ducts and vent units to control airflow in and out of the building.
Now, the space benefits from controlled ventilation that helps maintain clean air and a safer working environment.
A simple solution, but one that makes a big difference to how the building performs every day.
We were on site at a local school during the Spring half-term, delivering heating upgrades across several parts of the campus.
Large school buildings can make maintaining consistent temperatures a real challenge ā ageing systems, large open spaces and constant movement all put pressure on heating performance.
Our engineers worked across teaching blocks, offices, the main drama hall and plant rooms, installing new fan heaters and radiators, upgrading water heaters and pressurisation equipment, and improving sections of pipework and insulation.
With the upgrades now complete, the school benefits from a more reliable and efficient heating system ā helping maintain comfortable learning environments for students and staff throughout the year.
Projects like this show how targeted upgrades can make a big difference to how buildings perform day to day.
We recently partnered with Clade Engineering Systems to deliver a large commercial Air Source Heat Pump installation at Hawthorn Leisure.
The end goal was a more sustainable heating system that could reduce environmental impact while still delivering reliable performance for their swimming facilities.
Working closely with the manufacturer, we prepared new foundations, reconfigured the plant room, and installed all pipework and insulation to integrate the new system seamlessly.
Following full testing and commissioning, the heat pump is now running efficiently ā providing consistent heating while significantly lowering carbon emissions.
A practical step towards lower-carbon operations, improved efficiency and long-term sustainability.
Projects like this show how high-demand facilities can successfully transition to renewable heating solutions. š
Our first international project! āļø
When we first stepped onto this site in Ireland, it was nothing more than an empty shell. Today, itās a fully functioning workspace.
The brief was simple: create an environment where teams can collaborate, meet, focus, and take a break.
We reconfigured the space to include a communal kitchen, accessible WC facilities, and glazed offices and meeting rooms designed around how the client works.
This marks our first office fit-out project in Ireland, a proud milestone for the team and a great example of what we can deliver beyond our usual regions.
Huge well done to everyone involved š
Happy Birthday to our Managing Director, Adam š
With everyone in and out of the office this week, we made sure to celebrate properly while we were all together.
Given Adamās birthday only officially comes around every four years, we thought weād better make this one count. Two more years to wait for the ārealā one!
Happy Birthday, Adam ā from all of us at UES!
