We’re fans of houndstooth, particularly designs that play with this traditional pattern, creating something fresh and bold. So Minni from Hodsoll McKenzie’s latest collection has us swooning. Minni is an épingle velvet - a combo of cut and uncut pile - which makes for a striking textural design. Minni’s pile is a blend of sumptuous cotton and viscose, that does 50,000 Martindales. Minni is from the beautiful Nomad collection which our Account Managers and Agents are showing now.

Coast Stripe is a wide-width, 100% linen drapery, available in 6 colourways.
Amore is our luxury, textured chenille. Amore comes in 11 colours and does 80,000 Martindales.
Bello is our Italian velvet with a sophisticated short pile. Available in 29 colours.
At the bottom is our Japanese-inspired blossom print Sakura. Made in Italy, this graceful linen /cotton blend is suitable for drapery and domestic upholstery.
And finally we’ve included a textured sheer - Luna. Again made in Italy, this linen /polyester cloth has the most beautiful drape and hand.

Design of the Day is our beautiful stock upholstery, Copenhagen. Best described as a contemporary velvet with a frosted, almost suede-like appearance, Copenhagen has a soft, cosy pile and a matte finish. Unlike more traditional velvets, its low sheen means it doesn’t “track” as noticeably, giving it a more modern look.
We were thrilled to see Copenhagen in this project by @moreatelier__ Its understated texture and matte finish pair perfectly with the rendered walls and serene ambience of the space - a beautiful example of quiet, tactile luxury.

Next Tuesday it’s Auckland’s turn to see the fabulous new David Shaw collection - Soft Scope. We’re thrilled to be part of this project with our fabrics looking fabulous on the Bear, Bennie and Sol chairs, and the Sol Settee. From 2pm to 4pm, at their 159 Design showroom, Amy Shaw and Amanda Cook will be introducing Soft Scop - sharing the story of its development, materiality and design themes.

The Heure Bleue display drops are looking so beautiful in our showrooms. This is a wide-width, 100% linen design from Etamine’s new collection Songe d’Eté. Available in four colourways, it features a broad ombré stripe that runs selvedge to selvedge. We’ve used it up the roll for our displays but it would look equally stunning railroaded, along the roll. Heure Bleue hangers are with our Account Managers now. They look forward to showing it to you.

Another stunning velvet design from Zimmer and Rohde’s After The Rain collection today. This is the sumptuous Mountain Lines, a cotton pile velvet featuring embroidered cloudscapes, creating a sculptured effect. The ten colours include edgy high-contrast hues to gentle neutrals. Visitors to our Auckland Showroom at 11am can learn more about this beautiful design from Clara Franke, Zimmer and Rohde’s Regional Sales Manager. We’re looking forward to it.
