“I would say that is by far the most cohesive sounding record we’ve ever made and that the songwriting, instrumentation, and arrangements on this record are better than anything we’ve done in the past. Also you can really hear every instrument shine thanks to Paul Millar. We’ve grown a little older, learned from our mistakes, made more mistakes, made even more mistakes, somewhat learned from those mistakes, and landed where we are today. Everything felt different this time around. My standards were lower back in the day and even then I was beyond critical. I’m still rarely pleased with what I do or anything I’ve done in the past, but I’m happy with this record. Hoping it stays that way this time.”
