Toronto – spend (or start) your St. Patrick’s Day with an evening of soulful introspection and join us for an intimate sanctuary concert.
Step into Grace Church on-the-Hill’s historic nave for a night of dynamic and heartfelt songs, commemorating the release of indie-experimental Toronto duo Ira Dot’s debut album In Blue Time. Recorded over 5 years, the album is an eclectic genre hybrid (slacker rock, electropop, sound collage, etc.), a meditation on the colour blue, and a tenderhearted study of melancholia.

Jordaan Mason (TO)
From Toronto, Ontario, Jordaan Mason’s creative genius has been a staple in experimental folk for over a decade. They released their first collaborative EP “pack up everything” in 2003, they provided the lyrics and vocals while Neil Gong wrote and performed the instrumentals. Jordaan then went on to release their first solo EP “one day the horses will have their revenge” that was written and recorded in their parent’s basement in August through December of 2004. Originally an intimate release only shared with friends, Jordaan was encouraged to share their EP more widely by those closest to them. Their development as a musician was highly impacted by the creation of this EP as they learned to play guitar through the writing process after forgetting their accordion in California. In the years to follow they have garnered an extensive discography, with 4 EPs, 10 albums, and a multitude of singles as a singer songwriter, as well as multiple releases in collaborative projects like children eating birds, Jordaan Mason and the horse museum, winter sister, and towards the forest. Most recently, Jordaan released a single entitled “IS THERE A BETTER NAME FOR THE THINGS THAT ACHE AND DOES IT MATTER WHEN THE EARTH MOVES ANYWAY” which continues to build off of what makes them so special as an artist. Jordaan Mason has perfectly captured a sense of raw authenticity, the feeling of people playing music in a room that can often be a lost art among over produced and over polished production styles. They create clean and well constructed songs that still feel heartfelt and genuine. In their own words, Jordaan Mason is simply a “confused human being singing songs about being a confused human being” a familiar feeling that can resonate with anyone.
Come cry your eyes out and see the musical wonder of Jordaan Mason at Wrecker Fest!
