Link in my BIO for the full film! 🎥
Today, I’m filled with so much gratitude and emotion as I finally get to share my heart with you — my short film, BUILDING BLOCKS. I wrote, directed and acted.
This project isn’t just another film for me. It’s the moment I found my voice. The moment I decided to take everything I’ve lived, everything I’ve learned, and pour it into my own narrative as a writer and director.
For so long, I’ve told other people’s stories — through characters, through emotion, through the eyes of someone else. But Building Blocks became the space where I learned to tell my own. It’s raw, imperfect, vulnerable, and real. It’s about the things that break us and the things that rebuild us. And in so many ways, it’s about what it means to start over — both in art and in life.
But what truly made this story come alive was the people who stood beside me — a team of artists, friends, and collaborators who believed in my vision and gave it their all.
I want to take a moment to thank and celebrate the incredible cast and crew who made this film possible:

Let’s make a movie! 🎥✨
Rob Zombie’s Halloween star Scout Taylor-Compton has directed a murder-mystery series titled What Ever Happened to Daisy?, Deadline reports.
Described as “a stylish marriage of Desperate Housewives meets Scream,” the eight-episode show is created, written, and produced by Owsley Robinson.
It follow three estranged siblings who must deduce the identity of a masked killer at their family’s gilded age estate, while ladies of their late mother’s social circle descend with their own agendas.
Christa B. Allen (“Revenge”), Elisa Donovan (Clueless), Cerina Vincent (Cabin Fever), and Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator) star.
The cast also includes Robinson, Anthony Del Negro (Deep in the Darkness), Catherine Corcoran (Terrifier), Olivia D’Abo (“The Wonder Years”), Brittany Daniel (Club Dread), Justiin Davis (“Boardwalk Empire”), Tom O’Connell (“Obi-Wan Kenobi”), and Charlene Tilton (“Dallas”).
Bryan Coyne, a writer on James Wan’s upcoming Creature of the Black Lagoon reboot, executive produces alongside Del Negro, Shane O’Brien, and Zach O’Brien.
“Filming What Ever Happened to Daisy? was like getting invited to the most glamorous dinner party —only to realize someone’s about to be murdered between the second course and dessert,” said Taylor-Compton. “I’ve never had so much fun playing in a world this twisted, this elegant, and this full of secrets.”
Made independently, the producers will shop the series around for distribution.

Y’all, the incomparable Scout Taylor Compton.
An absolute joy and top to bottom pro. What an incredible performer, and now becoming an even more impressive force as a writer and director.
I won’t ever stop saying great things about working with her. Peep the third slide to hear her ask for, then sing a “tubby lullaby.” I think I channeled Jason Lee from Mallrats with my impromptu vocal accompaniment. @thatkevinsmith gets it.
Last slide is one of my favorite shots in the movie.
Loved these days.
