Coaching online can be odd - sometimes you’ll speak to clients every day at length and realise when you finally see them, you’ve only actually met them once or twice (if that). Thankfully, it always ends up a good time. Few of the crew weren’t able to cop a states ticket so we decided to have a lil’ last minute team training session. Great vibes and as expected probably too much going off program - but this is fine (a PR is a PR amirite?). We’ll have to do it more often. Some highlights - Phipp chipped his bench max with a cheeky top single at 131kg - James had a bit of a rough time with squats last block, tinkered with a few things these last couple of weeks and he managed to crank out a crispy 210kg single with a PB set of 5 at 190kg - Tu’s actually never used a bench outside of anytime fitness. Given the occasion he AMRAP’d 140kg for 7 reps. It’s +20kg or something silly like that. He’s cooked. - Our comeback King Dan ran a mock meet finishing with 597.5kg. A smooth 250kg to finish equaling his best lifts pre-injury in succession. I’m excited to see him compete in November and push the total higher than ever. Not pictured: - Mikey high bar’d his low bar PR but didn’t film so therefore it doesn’t exist and now must squat more this week - Tatsuya AMRAP’d 170kg on deads with a PR set of 7 Everyone pictured has a competition lined up in the next few months (not to mention those who couldn’t make it). Gets me a lil’ fired up. Someone told me during a PT session last year that online coaching is a waste of time when AI exists. Play’s on my mind a bit I won’t lie - but when you have cool little days like this, I’m inclined to disagree.

Few hit outs in the first quarter Big Tobes had a great day at his first mega nationals running it back after what feels like a comp every 8 weeks for the last year and honestly, couldn’t be happier. His first 9/9, the best he’s handled himself under pressure and just a really fun morning at an extremely well run event. Time for some well-earned R & R. Tatsuya has a history of doing comps, breaking himself, then not doing them for ages. When he asked me to start coaching him for this meet my own goal was to get him on the platform, have him enjoy it and be able to walk away and get straight back into it so he can KEEP doing comps. He dropped 7.5kg during prep to get into the u/82’s and still held close to his previous gym PR’s whilst smashing his best bench at a way lighter bodyweight. He also had FUN. Some things to work out on squats & deadies but there is promise - now he has the opportunity to have a proper off-szn. No comeback needed this time. Mr P keeps running away on holidays then decided to be cheeky whilst I was on vacation myself and slot into the next local meet. Hitting some numbers very close to his all-time bests with less than a few weeks notice I’m excited to see him crush it toward the end of the year and see how many new shirts he has to buy.

Two of our OG’s step onto the platform this weekend @stretchwithe comes out of retirement for her first sanctioned weightlifting meet on Saturday at the Ralph Cashman Open. With a two week prep we’ll just be treating it like a big Friday (Saturday) to get some experience on the board. I’m keen to see what a fruitful string of training blocks has in store. @barbell_kay is running it back after Oceania’s down in Melbourne Saturday. Kay doesn’t like posting on social media so I thought I’d share how his peak went. He’s feeling ____ and looking _____! I’m very ____ about it all!

200kg x 6 (HB PR) Been a bit rough trying to get into the rhythm the last month. Few schedule changes, not much rest dis dat etc. My elbow also go hurty so I’ve had my 5 minute neurotic tantrum before being told to rest. This is a pre cool win after a bit of time off over summer, a big theme for this year is stopping to smell the roses more. Some lofty goals in 2026, and I will be doing my best to make sure I appreciate every lil’ step trying to achieve them. But if anyone wants to lend me a new elbow I’ll definitely oblige tysm love u x @stallion_strength_systems

First one up for the year 🫡 - Marcus puts 5kg on his squat over the holidays with 205kg - Michael in fine form with a successful string of blocks nailing a solid 135kg x 3 - Ellie rips a 90kg x 3 PR deadlift just a month post comp - Bernard takes his best squat for a double at 180kg - Daniel with a spicy 170kg x 5, a huge comeback from dealing with a chronic back injury - Lucinda with a cheeky 120kg x 2 squat PR before the holidays - Josiah continues his Press-idential run with 180kg x 2 on the bench press for a 10kg PR - Tu takes 222.5 x 3. This is a 2.5kg all time squat PR, but he did it for 3 so I guess we’re gonna have to go up. If you need a hand with your training in 2026, I think we should have a chat
