@313connection are pleased to announce that @dj3000official will be our special guest at La Cheetah, Glasgow this Saturday 25 April. We’ve been looking forward to hosting him for a long time and are excited to finally make it happen. Born Franki Juncaj and raised in Hamtramck, Michigan, DJ 3000 came into techno straight at the source. Introduced to the world of @submerge313 and the Underground Resistance collective through friends in Detroit, he quickly became part of that extended family. UR co-founder ‘Mad’ Mike Banks famously gave Juncaj his DJ name after the collective moved their headquarters to 3000 W. Grand Boulevard - a moment that cemented his connection to the Detroit techno lineage. While deeply rooted in the Detroit scene, DJ 3000 has spent decades touring internationally, bringing his distinct sound to clubs and festivals across the globe. His productions and DJ sets are known for blending driving Detroit techno with melodic samples and instrumentation often inspired by his Albanian heritage, creating a sound that is both unmistakably Detroit and uniquely his own. Alongside his production work, Juncaj founded the Motech label in 2002 - a platform that has developed its own identity within the global techno landscape, showcasing both his own music and a wide range of forward-thinking artists. His work has also reached a wider audience through high-profile remixes for artists such as St. Germain and Depeche Mode, further cementing his place within the wider electronic music world. With Glasgow’s long-standing connection to the Detroit sound, it feels only right to welcome DJ 3000 to @lacheetahclub - one of the city’s key spaces for underground music. Opening the night will be 313 Connection residents and founders @undercurrent313 and @kairogen setting the tone with a warm-up rooted in Detroit influence while stretching across deeper techno, house and beyond. 313 Connection returns to @lacheetahclub this Saturday 25th April with special guest @dj3000official Alongside his work as a DJ, 3000 has built his own @motechrecords into one of the key labels connected to the wider Detroit techno network, with close ties to @submerge313 and a catalogue that reflects both established names and newer artists. The label has released music from major artists including @aux88_official , @bensimsofficial and @truncate_la , while also featuring artists from Glasgow such as @_yetimindtricks and @frazi.er . Founded in 2002, Motech has maintained a steady catalogue across vinyl and digital, distributed through Submerge, with a clear focus on functional club music. The output is centred around DJ 3000’s own EPs alongside carefully selected contributions from international artists, giving the label a consistent identity without shifting towards short-term trends. Releases such as his latest So Sheik show the range within the Motech catalogue. The label has always kept a clear identity - rooted in Detroit house and techno while giving space to different artists and influences. That balance between heritage and forward movement is a big part of why having DJ 3000 in Glasgow feels significant. Residents @kairogen and @undercurrent313 open the night, setting the tone before DJ 3000 takes over in the basement at La Cheetah. With the scale of the booking and the setting, this is set to be one of the standout nights we’ve put on so far. Detroit Sound, Glasgow Community 313 Connection returns to Glasgow’s @lacheetahclub basement on 25th April for the next event with our special guest @dj3000official Last Event Recap Big thanks to our invited DJs The Hermit (Rab Hutchison) & @eubodj for the last party. A full journey through the warmer, jazz-leaning side of Detroit house through to deeper and tougher techno sounds. Atmosphere The basement was exactly how we like it - focused, open, and properly locked into the music from start to finish. Crowd Focus The crowd at 313 Connection has always been a big part of what we do. We’re aiming to build a space for people who are open to new sounds, whether they’ve followed Detroit music for years or are hearing it for the first time. Community Each night has brought a mix of people - different ages, different levels of experience - all contributing to a supportive and welcoming atmosphere. That balance is something we want to keep growing. Ticket options We will be running a group ticket price at £7.50 each for groups of 4 and above. If you buy a ticket and fancy coming down early from 6-10, @phazon.gla will be running where you receive half price entry. Our final selector is one of our co-founders @undercurrent313 aka @paddy____c - a passionate and dedicated selector with an endless thirst for learning and perfecting his craft, throughout a wide spectrum of sound. He is also a weekly resident at @maxsbarglasgow upstairs every Wednesday. This evening he joins The Hermit (aka Rab Hutchison for a very rare appearance behind the decks instead of the tech booth) @eubodj will be playing our peak time slot. Known for his groovy layered style of techno and championed by the likes of @pltfrm.fstvl @subclub87 and @easternbloc_ it’s a great time to see him spin some vinyl with a Detroit twist. @kairogen will also be on the decks, our other resident and co-founder picking out some favourites and newly found Detroit-esque finds across house and techno.
