Located just blocks away from the queer PRIDE block party that will be happening on South Street, this small gallery is teaming up with some of our Collide community to bring you a two day pop-up of open mic poetry, live painting, nonalcoholic mockatails by @nutmeg_bar_and_market and raffle prizes of art, zines, gift cards to local businesses, and more! 🤩 But we need you to SHOW UP and SUPPORT our cause! All ticket sales will benefit PROUD, an initiative to raise $3,500 for trans lifeline, BIPOC artists, and @vamos_juntos_ This is a collab event you DO NOT want to miss. Without community, Ro wouldn’t be. . “Dead, alive, or in between, the world keeps spinning” — a quote from my poem titled “If I’m being honest..” which discusses the pains of su*c*dal ideation with the desire to experience joy. These slides are a reflection of that. I’ve found so much joy while feeling uncertain with my belonging. The line also reminds me that the world won’t stop for my feelings and I must find ways to navigate while feeling so lost. . The future is uncertain and continues to creep closer. The stability is wobbly. The movement is possibility. Who knows where I’ll be next month, but I really hope. . Thank you, thank you, thank you ❤️‍🩹🌱⛵️

DIY Rolodex Party - PART II! 🌈 see our bio for tickets 💜 Back by popular demand, May 16th @timeandpeacecafe ! Create a living archive of your relationships with this DIY craft workshop! The Rolodex encourages direct contact and connection, no more *feeling* like you know what’s going on with your friends because you see their posts on socials. We all know some of the main challenges of adult relationships are availability and time. This gives an intimate, tangible, screen free way to engage, even when schedules don’t line up or access is limited. We’ll use paper and craft supplies to create an old school mini album. Feel free to bring photos & mementos of those you love. This craft is highly customizable to your own creativity and whimsy! 🌧️🦄 How to use your Rolodex… 1. Check in with your people. Call, send a text, write a letter, visit, whatever! 2. Update your Rolodex. Your friend got a new job? Write it down! They’ve taken up capoeira? Take note. 3. Repeat! Follow up on their journeys. 3. Bask in your fortified connection and take pride in knowing what’s going on with your people. ROUND 1 (again) 💪📚💐💻☕️ . I’ve had to recalibrate a few things here due to unforeseen life experiences. 🫠😅 . We are over a third of our goal, less than two months out, and barely any event has began! 🙌 y’all keep me fueled and are the proof to the values I carry. 🫂❤️‍🩹 . Being unemployed, I didn’t know if I should, could, or would continue this. I spent a good few hours grieving, panicking, and recalibrating to get back to this spot. “What do I love so much that the pains of it are worth the love for it?” Yeah, I’d give myself a headache for you — because it’s not a heartache. Stopping now would be a heartache. I’m willing to put in the work necessary, while also finding the time to rest and regroup. I couldn’t give up when this means the world to me to do, and others want it to happen, too. Thank you, thank you, thank YOU! To everyone who’s been so supportive of me in every which way you could think of. I’ve been engaging with others and trying to accept support where I can, as well as offering support where I can. ⛵️⛵️⛵️ .
