Black History Month is about honoring the work that moves us forward. In 2024, I had the privilege of producing and assisting my mentor, the incredible Stanley Wayne Mathis, on his powerful play “Preachin’ To The Choir: An Inconvenient Truth.”
This piece doesn’t shy away from hard conversations. It explores how we as the African Diaspora must take ownership of our own actions—yes, protecting ourselves from external harm, but also embracing each other more deeply. The healing starts within.

Saturday night at Howard University ( @howard1867 ), @omepro_tv brought the house DOWN for the Season 6 screening of Talks With Myself 🎬🖤 The love, the laughter, the community energy was absolutely ELECTRIC!
Our phenomenal host @malachijstewart held space with such grace and power, while our incredible cast reminded us why Black Queer Stories MATTER. And can we talk about our creative genius @directorroger - Celebrating his birthday while celebrating his art - watching him pour his soul into this work that has been changing the game for our community... I’m getting emotional just thinking about it 💕
For months, our team has been dreaming, planning, and manifesting this moment. Seeing the auditorium packed with beautiful Black and Brown faces, feeling the collective joy and recognition in that space... THIS is why we do what we do.
Roger is a PIONEER who has been creating pathways for Black Queer storytellers when nobody else would. His work deserves to be in every major festival, every streaming platform, every classroom. Period.
