A few weeks ago I released a track called Riot :
The goal with this track was to feel the oppression and chaos that we can feel during riots & protests.
The bass doesn’t stop, the kick rhythm is sustained, to emphasize the feeling that everything is happening too quickly during moments of chaos.
In the background, you’ll hear protesters attacking a police car, the sound of projectiles crashing into the car, glass bottles, etc. This ambient sound lasts for the entire first half of the track, then fades out, giving way to a slower rhythm.
The brass and other layers add gravity to the situation; it might make you want to throw some paving stones on pig 👮♂️
The first photo was taken in a small town during the 2023 national riots following the murder of Nahel (17 years old) by French police

At first I didn’t pay much attention to them, but over time some of them became among my favorite records. So much so that I take care not to listen to them too often to maintain the pleasure of rediscovering them.
