Sierra and Brian are just 2 of the 139 writers of the Happy Endings staff who went on to run television shows of their own in Sierra’s hilarious and groundbreaking Rutherford Falls and Gallivan’s hilarious and groundbreaking The McCarthys. These two are threads of the fabric that make up happy endings and without Sierra’s huge heart and Gallivan’s ENORMOUS ego Happy Endings and Max and Penny would not be the same or be there at all really. We are at it again Wednesday, October 14th, 5pm PDT, 8pm EDT supporting Mokah Johnson, who was just endorsed by Barack Obama and running for Georgia House District 17. She is a real progressive and bold leader, untraditional in many ways and not afraid of the establishment in ways that will blaze new paths in the South. Mokah will be joining us!
We are also supporting voter efforts in swing state, Pennsylvania through State Senator Art Haywood. He is leading efforts to increase voter turnout in Black communities in Philadelphia where there was quite a dip from 2012 to 2016 in voters. The money will be used for transportation to polling locations, distribution of early voting palm cards, voter registration tables and set up, mail in ballot application printing/mailing and weekend car caravans. He has also opened up a small office in the community for people to come in and get information. We are working with him recommended through TurnPABlue. Art will be joining us!
As also noted to you yesterday, we will be joined by former White House pastry chef Bill Yosses who will be recreating a delicious lemon pound cake he used to make at the WH and talking briefly about making the goods for the Obamas. Feel free to buy the ingredients and make it for the call!
