In the lead up to the 2026 NEC Tournament, University of Maryland Eastern Shore freshman Chase Valentine has been named the NEC Rookie of the Year.
In his first season with the Hawks, during the inaugural UMES menβs volleyball season, Valentine recorded 213 kills, striking with an NEC best 40.7% efficiency. He also led the NEC in total blocks with 124 (1.28 blocks per set) while notching 56 digs and 13 assists.

In the lead up to the 2026 NEC Tournament, University of Maryland Eastern Shore fifth year senior Kenyon Haynes has been named to the NEC Second Team.
In his first season with the Hawks, during the inaugural UMES menβs volleyball season, the Hawks' setter surpassed 3,000 career assists this season while accruing 867 this season (10.32 assists per set). Haynes also added 131 digs while recording 40 total blocks and 29 kills.

In the lead up to the 2026 NEC Tournament, University of Maryland Eastern Shore junior Andre Mills has been named to the NEC Second Team.
In his first season with the Hawks, during the inaugural UMES menβs volleyball season, Mills surpassed 700 career kills this season while hitting 255 kills this season (3.15 kills per set). Mills also added 62 total blocks, 30 service aces 119 digs and 11 assists.
