Last Saturday, these young people put the biggest smile on my face. I was waiting for my bus when I saw them across the street in their uniforms. I complimented them, and they came over with the sweetest smiles, so respectful and well-mannered.
They told me they’re raising money to travel to Georgia for a dance competition. I didn’t have much on me, but I gave what I could because I love seeing young Black children and teenagers doing something positive, staying focused, and chasing their dreams.
So if you see them out raising money, please support them. Every dollar helps. They are representing Queens with pride, talent, discipline, and good manners.
Kudos to their parents, grandparents, family, and team for pouring into them. I’m rooting for y’all all the way. Bring it back home to Queens!
