I’m so glad I captured this moment…
Every time I’d grab my guitar since 2016 I’d play this unfinished song and attempt to add to it unsuccessfully. That’s a lot of hours spent banging against the wall of incompletion with my instrument.
What you’re seeing here is the moment I realised - not only would this song be finished very soon - but it sounds for the first time how I’d heard it in my head since the early London chapter…
I start pacing up and down as I realise that this never-ending 9 year song finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel. That patience with creativity was about to pay-off. That it now made sense why I had to wait so many years, endure so many plot-twists and travel across hemispheres to have it finally meet fruition.
Thank you to T-Bone and Hammond for becoming primary players in this song. We ended up keeping that same Stevie-esque key riff in the final mix. We still have just as much fun playing it live. In fact it’s getting out of hand.
