Progress isn’t always perfect conditions — sometimes it’s adapting, pushing through, and still performing strong.
Well done Carin.
Carin did exactly that at Sun City Ultra 🔥
A cold start, tough conditions, and another strong performance from Carin at Sun City Ultra. 🏊🚴🏃
From a foggy swim and frozen feet to a fast bike course with rolling hills and gusty winds, race day delivered its challenges — but Carin showed resilience, strength, and composure throughout. Most importantly, she walked away pleased with the outcome and motivated for what’s next.
Every race teaches you something… and this one confirmed two things: new swim goggles are non-negotiable 😂 and the TT bike upgrade might finally be calling. #swimbike #aquabike #trainingformosselbay

The 10th Sun City @ultratriseries . A course that earns your respect every single time! 🙌
As a proud sponsor of this event, we love what this race stands for - real endurance, earned results, and athletes who show up prepared.
Among them were;
🥇 Nicholas Horne - 1st overall, Standard Distance · 02:25:21
🥈 Dehan Louw - 2nd overall, Ultra Individual · 03:42:28 (as a training race!)
💪 Damion Gomez - 5th in category (AG 18-29), Ultra Individual · 04:21:43
Results like these don’t happen on race day alone. They happen in the months of training, the early mornings, and the discipline to fuel and recover right.
To every athlete who raced on Saturday - well done. Every finish line crossed is a victory. 👊

SUN CITY ULTRA | ONE80 SHOWED UP
A massive well done to the ONE80 team for making such a huge presence at the Sun City Ultra this weekend!
From amazing results, to first-timers crossing the finish line of their very first ultra, to podiums across all three distances we are incredibly proud of every athlete who showed up and gave it their all.
But beyond the results, the team vibes were unmatched support, encouragement, and reminding us that no athlete does it alone.
Special mention to @andrewmarqroberts for stepping up as marshal at the run split… we think he may have found his new passion🚩 Watch to the end to see him in action.
Proud of our ONE80 family 💙

There is a point where i felt that a human being is not so human anymore. I had all the valid reasons to tap out of this race; my body was just rejecting my nutrition, and I felt very dizzy during the swim. I came out of the swimming feeling like I was going to pass out, committed a bit, and felt a bit better after that. The bike course was amazing, that is one session that i would say i enjoyed in the race, but I thought i could fuel more since i vomited some of the nutrition from the swim, little did i know that i was over-fueling and my body rejected all the nutrition as soon as i stepped into the run. 2km into the run, i had to stop and vomit about 1 “litre of fluid and passed out for about 2min if not mistaken. I was advised to stop and call it a day but in that moment, my body didn’t feel like mine anymore, i felt like i just hit a factory reset button. My body felt very good and I carried on with the run and started hitting my numbers. Every 5km my legs would cramp out and I had to just force them to keep moving by increasing the pace. I was so happy when i saw the finish line and when i looked at my finished time, I was surprised at the fact that despite the challenges I met I still hit all the numbers the coach had planned for me to hit and even went faster than planned.
This race is by far the hardest race i have ever done. And a normal human being will just decide this was a final one but this race just opened a hunger for racing more and tapped into that spirit self I was in.
I took position 8 in my Age group an i happy with the results.
Here is to more crazy racing
