We’re getting up early and moving with purpose for Pieta.
Our “Sweat into Sunrise” session kicks off at 4:15am — right at sunrise. Every rep we do together is about more than fitness; it’s about raising awareness for mental health struggles, suicide, and self-harm.
The session is completely FREE and open to UC members, friends, and family. Stick around afterwards for coffee, chats, and a few sweet treats ☕🍪
Let’s show up, support each other, and make every movement count. 💛

Plenty of focus on single sided work , landing dynamics and rotation in this block.
Always a great way to improve balance, stability, coordination and identify and rectify imbalance.
"imbalance (or asymmetry) is a greater predictor of injury than simple strength alone, previous injury, or general flexibility"
Think about that for a second!
Basically., equal flexibility (great or poor) , equal strength on both sides, (strong or "weak") and previous injury have less of an impact on injury than having an imbalance.
Fix your imbalances!!
If you are breaking down in the "bigger" lifts,(deadlifts, squats etc)getting niggles etc ... Incorporate sided work in your training.
Get off 2 legs, add rotation, stability drills etc. 👌
Getting the ergs feeling smoooooooth for our members 👌
Few were feeling "clunky" and one had an annoyingly longer pull one side over the other..
A bolt on the new rower came loose inside the freewheel unit causing it to rub off the flywheel.... But sh*t from a new concept rower!
But all sorted and back ready to inflict more pa.... Eh fitness gainzzz!

Some Info on Trim 10 mile race this Sunday!
The gym is the race HQ. You can drop your bag here, If you've any questions pop races will be here to answer any race questions or number queries!
There will be toilets located across the road from the gym.
Make sure you arrive early to get yourself warmed up and ready for the race!
