Bronnadh leabharlann phríobháideach an Dr. Dónail Ó Súilleabháin ar Leabharlann Glucksman sa bhliain 2016. Le linn a shaoil, bhailigh an Dr. Ó Súilleabháin cnuasach suntasach de téacsanna foilsithe i nGaeilge agus ábhair eile a bhaineann le hábhair litríochta agus chultúir na hÉireann.
Le ceiliúradh a dhéanamh ar Sheachtain na Gaeilge 2026 anseo tá sampla randamach de sé leabhar ón mbailiúchán. Tugann na leabhair seo léargas ar an saol in Éirinn go luath san 20ú haois trí théamaí ar nós aistí beaga faoi cheirdeanna, sean-fhocla, léaráidí agus cómhrá.
The private library of Dr Dónal Ó Súilleabháin was donated to the Glucksman Library in 2016. Dr Ó Súilleabháin over his lifetime accumulated a significant collection of Irish language published texts and other materials relating to the subjects of Irish literature and culture.
To celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge 2026 we’re showcasing six books from the collection. These books provide an insight into life in Ireland in the early 20th century through short essays about crafts, proverbs, illustrations and conversations.
