Thank you to everyone who came to support our boxers during @officialdfc_ 11 the other week! Due to meningitis all of our external sparring sessions were cancelled and all of our students went home meaning all three of our fighters entered that ring having gone without sparring and contact partner work for three weeks. Despite this massive set back we showed up and turned up, coming away with three wins out of three fights. Suraj fought a more than game opponent in @mickeyjoewright and survived a hard early knockdown before rising up off the canvas and boxing his way to a points win. Jo came in underweight with several injuries but he pushed forward against a hard hitting @_ddonnelly and dug deep to get that win. Finally we have Elkanah who went to WAR with @kchani10 . Both men gave everything they had and fortunately we came away with another win. All three opponents showed their class before and after fighting our boys and all three deserve a pat on the back for leading the way and showing what boxing is really about. We can’t wait to have them down for some sparring and to get back out there on June 28th. Sink or Swim 🦈
The only thing better than making your @officialdfc_ debut is winning that debut and doing it in style. Elkanah Lawal went 2,0 last Sunday against a tough opponent whilst wearing a bespoke pair of shorts designed and manufactured by us. We went for the classic Kent Sharks colours (navy blue and gold) and we used satin and embroidered logos as it looks more premium. We look forward to continuing to make fight kits for Elkanah and for the DFC & their fighters. There’s nothing better than doing what you love and doing it with the best people in Kent 🥊

Our new Ring is finally here! 14 X 14ft with a 12 inch platform, it’s even more beautiful in person than it looks in these photos. Thank you to our Club Chairman Ollie for all of the hard work he has done behind the scenes. The gym renovation has been 12 months in the making and we now have a matching set of heavy bags, mirrors, wall art and now the first proper ring that the club has had in over 30 years. We also have a full complement of flags to represent and celebrate the diversity within our Club & within the University. With all of that said and done, we couldn’t have done any of this without the help of Kent Sport. On behalf of the club we want to thank all of the hard working staff for bearing with us and allowing us to convert their facilities to suit our needs. Lee Thompson has been amazing and we all owe him a big thank you for working alongside our Club Chairman. We will keep working away behind the scenes over Easter and by the time the summer term begins all of you will be able to see and enjoy the end result 🥊
