Wow we are getting a lot of questions this eve, and we love it
BUT lots of the questions are coming through duplicated so I thought I would answer some publicly. ❤️ ❔ SHOULD MY CHILD ENTER EMERGING OR EXPERIENCED YOUTH CATEGORIES?
If your child has placed in the top 3 at any national (open to the whole of the UK equally and priority is not given to a particular region) or international aerial competition on any apparatus, at any level above beginners/novice then they need to enter Experienced Youth categories in UKAPC. This includes at a lower age level as this distinction is based on competition/performance experience only. NOT skill level.
If not, they can enter emerging youth categories.
❔ CAN I ENTER THE SAME CATEGORY AT DIFFERENT REGIONAL EVENTS?
Unfortunately not.
❔ HOW MUCH IS THE ENTRY FEE?
Entry is £20 per category, however we only require one entry fee per doubles.
❔ I CAN'T MAKE MY LOCAL REGIONAL EVENT, CAN I SUBMIT A VIDEO?
Not unless you are entering professional categories or are an international competitor. Videos must also be unedited, filmed in front of a live audience and must meet all entry criteria for the category.
❔ IS FLOOR WORK COMPULSORY?
Nope but it is permitted. However if you include floor work you will be judged on the skills you include.
❔ CAN I USE FIRE IN MY PERFORMANCE?
Unfortunately not. Our insurance does not cover fire or pyrotechnics.
❔ CAN I USE GLITTER (OR ANY OTHER MESSY PROP) IN MY PERFORMANCE?
Potentially yes, if the hosting venue agrees but you need to provide adequate means to clean it all up within the 3 minute allocated time between competitors.
❔ I ALREADY SUBMITTED A FORM LAST WEEK, CAN'T YOU JUST PROCESS THAT AT 9AM TOMORROW?
Unfortunately not, it isn't fair to other competitors as places at events are given on a first come, first served basis.
❔ HOW LONG DOES MY PERFORMANCE NEED TO BE?
Junior, Youth, youth doubles and Amateur competitors must be between 2 and 3 minutes.
Adult doubles, instructor and professional competitors must be between 2.5 and 3.5 minutes.
you are a allowed 15 sec buffer.
