Sometimes what we know—or think we know—sits confidently in the front of our minds, while what we need to learn waits quietly, deeper… until God brings a moment to reveal it. Today, on my commute to Surulere, I encountered such a moment. A young man stood sharing the Word—unfiltered, unpolished, yet bold. And before he even spoke fully, my mind had already formed a judgment. I found myself measuring him against what I thought I knew, preparing to weigh his words before even hearing them. But then, gently and firmly, the Holy Spirit interrupted my thoughts. “Listen.” Not to compare. Not to critique. But to receive. That correction was quiet, yet it carried authority. It shifted me from a place of assumption to a posture of humility. In that moment, I realized—discernment is not proven by how quickly we judge truth, but by how well we hear it. So I listened. And the message came—simple, centered, alive. He spoke of Jesus Christ as the way, the truth, and the life—the only Savior. He spoke of grace, of redemption, of the immeasurable power in the blood shed on the cross. No scriptures quoted, no theological structure laid out—yet something deeper bore witness. My spirit aligned. Because truth does not always announce itself with complexity; sometimes it arrives clothed in sincerity. And when it is real, the Spirit within you responds before your intellect does. I was blessed—not because of eloquence, but because of authenticity. And I learned something else: Silence is not neutrality. When you choose not to respond, you have already made a decision. So I chose differently. Led by the Spirit, I encouraged him—not as one above, but as one who had just been reminded. I spoke life. I affirmed his boldness. I sowed words where he had sown first, reminding him that love never fails, and that every labor done in Christ carries eternal weight. And somewhere between that encounter and the rest of my day, a deeper truth settled within me: Leadership is not first about speaking. It is about listening. It is about pausing long enough to understand, feeling deeply enough to empathize, and humbling yourself enough to follow—before you ever attempt to lead....

Beginners tells stories, Amateur understand the craft of story telling and Experts controls the stories Praise Shakes the Earth Yesterday, in our Unity Class at the Children’s Church — @cornerstonecacc_ I shared a story with the kids that still echoes through time like a divine heartbeat: the story of Paul and Silas in Acts 16:16–40. It began in chains. Two men, beaten and bruised, locked behind cold stone walls for doing good — for declaring freedom to those bound by darkness. Yet, in that midnight hour when despair should have been their companion, they chose a different sound. They prayed. They sang. And heaven listened. As their joyful noise rose something ancient and holy stirred — the kind of power that doesn’t just open doors, but shakes foundations. The prison quaked. Chains fell. Walls surrendered. Freedom arrived, not by sword or strategy, but through worship. And in the stillness that followed the shaking, one man — the jailer — fell trembling before them, undone by what he had witnessed. His question was as old as the ache in every human heart: “What must I do to be saved?” Paul and Silas didn’t offer ritual or rule. They offered relationship: “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved — you and your household.” In that moment, the story turned. A keeper of prisoners became a keeper of faith. The same hands that once locked chains now washed wounds. His home, once filled with duty, now overflowed with joy. That is the miracle within the miracle — that worship, in its truest form, doesn’t just move heaven; it moves hearts. When we pray and praise, we do more than sing songs. Instead of worrying, we please God. And when the Spirit finds such harmony, earthquakes happen: not just in prisons, but in souls. Emotions break open. Deliverance flows. Intimacy deepens. That’s what I told the children — that worship isn’t just what we do, it’s what we become and it's not a feeling but a command like love is, to others as Jesus loves us & when we worship in spirit and truth, we don’t just tell stories of miracles but live them. 📷@ukaamakanwa7

The Art and The Artist During a recent visit to the legendary Bruce Onobrakpeya Centre in Agbaraha-Otor—home to one of Africa’s most revered printmakers, sculptors, and cultural custodians—I had the privilege of meeting this promising artist, Jane @jane_ugah While on assignment interviewing the master himself, I asked Jane to a spontaneous challenge: to sketch me in under two minutes, all while we remained in conversation about her artistic journey. What emerged was not only a quick sketch on paper, but also a profound encounter with a creative mind full of vision and determination. Jane shared stories of her artistic path, one marked by a desire to grow beyond comfort and embrace multiple mediums. Her openness to experimentation and discovery within the workshop environment reflects the spirit of an artist intent on expanding her language of expression. When she later discovered that I, too, am an artist working across different forms, her curiosity deepened. She spoke with particular admiration for a piece I created for Kó @ko_artspace —a work (CSI piece @christopher_samuel_Idowu ) that had resonated with her. This moment of shared recognition became the anchor for a rich dialogue on art, creativity, and the courage required to keep evolving. What struck me most was Jane’s humility and quiet confidence. Her simplicity is charming, yet it carries a strength that hints at remarkable works yet to come. In her, one sees not only the promise of talent but also the discipline and sincerity that ensure longevity in an artist’s journey. #TheArtAndTheArtist #TheConversation

New work alert for Kó Artspace, Shot, Edited & Graded by yours truly. Big shout to @benhilly567 for Audio Post Production and @otsholengpoo for her directing insight. Christopher Samuel Idowu's solo exhibition, "The Secret Place", opens this Thursday, July 17, 6-8 PM! Idowu’s multidisciplinary practice, encompassing painting, drawing, mixed media, sound, and installation, reflects on themes of memory, transience, and transformation. His works capture moments that feel both earthly and ethereal, rendered in a palette that suggests natural earth tones, faded walls, or weathered patina. @christopher_samuel_idowu
