Healing happens in more places than a hospital room.
Our staff are proud to serve families not only inside the hospital, but throughout the community, providing resources, guidance, education, and support where it’s needed most.
Pictured above are members of UH Rainbow's BREATHE Team, holding down the fort in the Mind & Body Wellness Hub at the 27th Annual Rock Your World with STEAM Family Festival.
Cleveland Municipal School District hosts this event each year, and hundreds of walked through Public Auditorium for weekend learning and fun!
Thank you to these special caregivers for helping provide resources to families in our community. Together, we’re building healthier futures for children and families in Cleveland and beyond.

We hope all moms, moms-to-be, and mother figures had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.
Last week, our breastfeeding support group from UH TriPoint Medical Center created beautiful keepsakes to honor Mother's Day.
The breastfeeding support group is a space where expectant and new moms come together to share parenting tips, survival stories, and develop friendships, led by a wonderful RN-Certified Lactation Consultant, at no cost to families.
Thanks to our amazing team at UH Lactation Services for all you do to help moms and babies throughout Northeast Ohio!

Nurses are the heartbeat of our hospital – and no one embodies that more than Susanna.
To kick off Nurses Week, we want to share photos of our President Marissa Kiefer taking part in the first-ever Side by Side Strides – a new caregiver shadowing experience – alongside Susanna, a longtime pediatric nurse who has called Rainbow 6 home for nearly 24 years.
Susanna's floor treats patients for just about everything, and she loves the constant variety that comes with caring for kids of all different needs. Her passion for her patients and her pride in her work is impossible to miss.
One thing that makes Rainbow 6 unique is the floor theme – water. Shades of blue and thoughtfully chosen décor create a calm, comforting environment designed to ease patients through their treatment.
As a thank you for participating in Side by Side Strides, Marissa gifted Susanna a new pair of sneakers.
To Susanna, and every nurse at UH Rainbow Babies & Children's – thank you! Your dedication, compassion, and care make Rainbow the warm, welcoming place it is for every patient and family who walks through our doors.

Happy National Superhero Day!
Forget Marvel's fictional heroes. The real-life superheroes are right here at UH Rainbow!
Every day, the incredible kids at our hospital show the courage and strength of a true superhero as they bravely face their health challenges.
Smiles with Style, a nonprofit volunteer organization, brightens hospital stays for pediatric patients by providing fun dress-up materials for kids to enjoy.
Today, the Smiles with Style cart was stocked with superhero accessories for this special day. From Batman to fairy princesses our patients were thrilled to play the part!
Thank you to @smiles_with_style for always bringing joy to our patients' days.

Since Autumn was a toddler, she experienced problems with sleep, suffering from vivid night terrors. She was often tired and plagued with digestive issues that impacted her ability to participate in school and sports.
Through the years, Autumn’s parents took her various specialists to try to determine what was wrong. All the while, she cared about school and gymnastics, but couldn’t participate at the level she wanted.
Autumn never quit trying to find a diagnosis. She did her own research, scouring the internet. One day, she came across a YouTube video about narcolepsy. The person was describing exactly how Autumn felt.
Often seen in popular culture as a joke, narcolepsy is a serious neurological disorder that disrupts the brain's ability to regulate sleep-wake cycles, leading to extreme, uncontrollable or excessive daytime sleepiness and sudden "sleep attacks."
While it is a rare condition, pediatric narcolepsy is often underdiagnosed. The incidence of the disease increases with age, being highest in adolescents (12–17 years) at approximately 24 per 100,000.
Autumn’s parents took her to her PCP who was skeptical about narcolepsy, but referred her to UH Rainbow sleep specialists for evaluation.
Autumn underwent an overnight sleep study followed by daytime testing that is unique to diagnosing narcolepsy. The results confirmed Autumn had narcolepsy and she began treatment right away.
Now 17, Autumn’s condition has greatly improved and she feels like herself, participating in normal teenage life – including gymnastics. She wants other kids who are struggling to know they’re not lazy – they have a condition that can be managed.
Thank you Autumn for being brave and sharing your story. Your advocacy will help others know they are not alone.
