On Wednesday, March 18th 2026, we sadly laid our girl Pebbles to eternal rest at 17 years old. Compounding health issues and her old age caused her to severely decline physically and cognitively in a short amount of time, & we made the decision together that we would prefer to give her an intentional final week full of love and time together rather than wait for her to suffer through some kind of medical emergency.
We’ll always remember her as our little sweetheart, whining at our heels to put her on the couch so we could all lay together. She loved to be close and cuddle and was a constant force in our lives saying “slow down. appreciate this moment you’re in.” She was a little gremlin for food, always quick to remind us that it was time for dinner and expressed her disapproval of her meager rations (she was fed incredibly well)
Our queen of the backyard, our protector of the bathroom door, our sleepy snoring angel. Pebbles loved people, babies, other dogs, any other animal really, even the ones who made it clear they didn’t want to be friends. She was a little light in the day to day to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
The last picture in this set is from the day we met Pebbles and took her home in September 2021. In the four and a half years we had her, she carved out her place deep within our hearts and leaves a terrible void in her absence. It’s hard not to feel like our home feels a little less like home without her, our bleppy girl, our little old lady.
Her final days were spent at her favorite places and doing her favorite things. At the park, sniffing every rock and bush and waddling up to meet new friends. On the couch, cuddled up between us as we watched movies and played video games together. In the car, face out the window, eyes closed, enjoying the wind on her face. She feasted on cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and chicken nuggets.
Pebbles passed peacefully, relaxed and safe, cuddled up in her favorite blanket on our laps. She’ll be with us forever. Goodnight sweet girl ❤️🌙🐶
