bad cherries 🍒 has been out for a month alreadyyyy and its been crazy!!
i’m going to lift the curtain on this a little bit, because the truth is I’ve had BAD CHERRIES 🍒🍒🍒 sit in a hard drive completely finished since 2023. I think a lot of independent artists can relate to this, but I go through this dichotomy of having songs to release but often by the time I have the money to actually fund the release it feels like I’ve outgrown the song.
I feel incredibly lucky that I had people around me who kept encouraging me to release this song because the meaning of it is so important (you can read on my substack) especially with what’s going on right now.
even though it’s so frustrating to sit on music for a long time, I’m a believer in perfect timing. and I’m glad that BAD CHERRIES 🍒 could be yours xxx

The idea for Bad Cherries began on a zoom session with @stefanwithapound . I wanted to talk how about the music industry preys on young people, especially young women, and how fucked up it is (this is a very abbreviated break down of what the song is about… but you can read the lyrics).
I was grateful to get some additional lyric help from @isabellakn_ . And I got to work on the production with @sakrmusic who is my absolute favourite producer in the world.
It is an unironic coincidence that all of this crazy news around the Epstein files has come out around the same time as this release. It’s crazy considering how long I’ve kept this track in the vault. Timing is everything.
