A new journey in nursing officially begins this week! 💙 Please help us welcome the Accelerated BSN Class of 2027 as they start their first classes at the UF College of Nursing.
We’re excited to welcome this incredible group of future #GatoRNurses from both Gainesville and Jacksonville to the UF College of Nursing family. This year also marks a 50% increase in our Jacksonville cohort, a reflection of the growing demand for compassionate, skilled nurses.
One year from now, these students will be preparing to cross the stage and begin their careers in healthcare. Here’s to new beginnings, big dreams and learning to #CareLeadInspireBoldly!
Big dreams met a life-changing moment! 💙🧡🩺 Members of the UF Pre-Nursing Student Association executive board spent the day getting an inside look at @ufhealth , touring hospital units, and imagining what their future could hold.
Then came the surprise!!
At the end of their visit, Dean Shakira Henderson delivered unforgettable news: an invitation to join the UF College of Nursing BSN program as 2029 #GatoRNurse graduates! 🎉
And the excitement didn’t stop there, at 6:00 p.m. today, current UF students also received their official admission letters from the UF College of Nursing. (Additional updates regarding admission will be released soon!)

Incoming UF College of Nursing Accelerated BSN student Devyn Bernstein shared how a compassionate caregiver helped shape her path into nursing: “She became a part of our family. She really embodied what I think a nurse is and what I want to be.” Stories like Devyn’s remind us that nursing is rooted in empathy, human connection and the profound impact caregivers have on patients and families every day.
