The curtain officially came down on the 9th Mini GUSA Games hosted by University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) with a colourful closing ceremony celebrating days of exciting competition, sportsmanship and university pride. Team UEW once again demonstrated excellence throughout the Games, delivering remarkable performances across various sporting disciplines and proudly securing third place overall with 13 gold medals, 20 silver medals and 14 bronze medals. The Games also saw Team UEW crowned champions of the men’s football competition following a memorable campaign marked by determination, resilience and teamwork. Congratulations to all athletes, coaches, officials and supporters who contributed to another successful outing for Team UEW at the 9th Mini GUSA Games.

Team UEW was crowned winners of the men’s football competition at the 9th Mini GUSA Games hosted by University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) yesterday after a 1-0 victory over Team UCC in the grand final. An outstanding performance from Team UEW saw the team secure the decisive goal and hold on firmly to claim the ultimate prize in a thrilling final encounter. Congratulations to the players, coaches and technical team for an incredible journey and a well-deserved triumph.

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has formalised a strategic partnership with Trainora Consult for the establishment of an International IT Testing Centre on campus to provide globally recognised professional IT certification examinations and digital skills training opportunities for students and professionals. The collaboration, sealed through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) earlier signed by Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual, the Vice-Chancellor of UEW, is expected to position the University as a leading regional hub for international IT certification, emerging technologies and digital skills development within the Central Region and beyond.

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has held a two-day Budget Implementation Workshop to strengthen institutional capacity in budget execution, accountability and prudent financial management in line with national public financial management reforms. The workshop, organised by the Office of the Finance Officer and held at the North Campus Mini-Conference Room from Wednesday, 13th May to Thursday, 14th May, 2026, brought together members of management, deans, directors, heads of department, accountants and administrative officers to deliberate on the implementation of the University’s 2026 budget within the framework of the Ghana Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS).

The programme is a reciprocal international exchange initiative aimed at enhancing teacher education through cross-cultural immersion, pedagogical development, and international collaboration. Since its inception, the programme has enabled over 80 UEW students to participate in academic and cultural exchange activities in Germany.

The Office of the Registrar wishes to inform all students that registration for the Second Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year has officially been activated. Registration Period Monday, 4th May 2026 – Sunday, 31st May 2026 Students are required to: Clear all outstanding fees. Complete course registration within the stipulated period. Students who were automatically deferred during the Second Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year due to non-registration of courses are advised to register accordingly to continue their studies in the 2025/2026 Academic Year.
