@khalida_popal_girlpower , former captain of the Afghan Women’s National Team, author, and founder of @girlpower_global , knows better than anyone how sport can empower, especially as a refugee herself.
She joined KNVB WorldCoaches in Ter Apel, at the biggest asylum seeker reception center in The Netherlands, to deliver two clinics on football, leadership, and life skills.
After the clinics, many WorldCoaches will become active in local communities and football clubs, aiding integration and strengthening local communities, while positively impacting the lives of countless children every day.
We are proud to collaborate with Khalida. After joining forces at the @UEFA Unity EURO Cup 2025 in The Netherlands, we are committed to building the tournament’s legacy together, such as here in Ter Apel.

This weekend at @uefa HQ, #UYL players took part in educational sessions that used robot technology to connect with children in hospital beds 🤖💙

😍 Last year, our amputee football match at the UEFA Youth League finals highlighted the inclusive spirit of the game and was one of the event’s standout moments.
⚽️ This Friday and next Monday in Lausanne, we will once again be part of the #UYL finals with more engaging activities.
