You’re invited! Join your EEB community for Art + Science Week! 🌎🎨 This is EEB’s second annual Art + Science Week, held from May 12th to the 16th. All events are held at UCSC’s main campus or Coastal Sciences Campus. The intersection of art and science can inspire curiosity, reveal hidden patterns, and bring new perspectives to research and storytelling. We hope your engagement in these events will inspire and create a deeper connection with the natural environment! ☀️🌻 Monday (5/12) from 1-3 PM: Open house event at the Ken Norris Center for Natural History. Learn about the Norris Center, hear about their internships and opportunities, meet undergraduate art fellows, check out their specimen collections, and create block prints! 🦋🦉 Tuesday (5/13): Utilize your creativity and leave your mark on the CBB building! Create a collaborative marine ecosystem mural through your understanding of marine life to illustrate how these amazing organisms coexist. 🐟🦑🦭 Wednesday (5/14) from 1-3 PM: Relax and let your creative side take over! This calming nature collage workshop allows you to master different mediums and textures to create your own piece of environmental art.🏞️🌸 Thursday (5/15) from 3-5 PM: Join SCMBAS and EEB for Gyotaku (fish printing). This traditional form of Japanese art was used as a method to record the catches of fishermen. All supplies will be provided! 🐠🎣 Friday (5/16) from 1-3 PM: Spring Makers Market! Come see what our creative community has to offer and support their work! 🖼️⭐️ Any questions? Email [email protected]
