“Kappa has helped me grow exponentially, both personally and professionally, throughout my four years at UCSB. From guidance of members early on to decide what Poli Sci classes to take, to landing the interview for my first internship at California Assemblymember Diane Dixon’s Office, all because I was a Kappa like her! This year I had the opportunity to work with my alumni mentor, Ellie, who helped me to refine my post-undergraduate career goals, connected me with contacts in her network for hospitality management and family law, and shared her experiences navigating the post-grad transition. Thanks to Ellie’s connections and her guidance, I am excited to announce that I’ll be starting as a Legal Assistant at Bamieh & De Smeth, PLC here in Santa Barbara! I would have my skills with or without Kappa, but bringing myself into this sisterhood and community gave me profound opportunities to apply them and network outside the world of Isla Vista. Kappa is more than the four years we spend here at UCSB, and I hope to give back to other Kappas as I move beyond this chapter of my life!”
