The next time you think of mucus, think of @ucmerced #GradSlam winner Tahirah Williams, a Ph.D.
On April 22, finalists from each of UC’s ten campuses competed in the systemwide Grad Slam competition, delivering rapid-fire, three-minute talks that distilled years of research into compelling stories for a broad audience.
In the end, Williams, a Ph.D. student in quantitative and systems biology in the Nobile Lab at UC Merced, took home both first prize and the People’s Choice award by vote of audiences watching online and in person at the UC Student and Policy Center in Sacramento.
