What more could you want? After reluctantly asking Maeve Barve for the varsity trophy back (shes still celebrating last year’s win), we spoke to our captains ahead of this year’s fixture. UCLWFC, captained by Irene Martinez and Cara Daum have had a great start to their season. On a winning streak (as consistent as the rain cancelling fixtures) the 1s have been a force to be reckoned with. Securing 73 goals across the league. This team excels from their top goalscorer on 15 (and counting) to the captains sweeping anything that enters their half. With the LUSL cup final already on the cards, this team is not to be messed with. So come to varsity and watch them show K*ngs who the better London uni is. And so after countless hours of varsity planning instead of listening in lectures. I’d like to thank uclfc whose sole job to get the contract signed took 2 months. Nevertheless we can assure you their football is better than their admin. As per the legacy of Ben Horswell the game will once again be at The SkyEx Communuty Stadium. The brave man following in his footsteps Aidan McAvoy had some fine words to say about their season so far. The new look UCL 1s looking to end this footballing year exactly how they started it, by beating k*ngs. Hopeful for a successful defence of the LUSL title and a strong BUCS performance, they have been a force this year and they’re hungry to make it almost 10 years straight of UCL varsity victory. To prepare you for match day (2 days to go). We’ve put together some travel information for you on getting to the stadium. And obviously the after party… The journey will take roughly an hour from campus. So be sure to leave in plenty of time to arrive, get a pint, and get the best seats.
