What a night at the 2025 Special Olympics Opening Ceremony in Ōtautahi! 🔥
So proud of our students whose montage lit up the stadium, and our crew capturing the action live throughout the night.

Last Thursday we held our first-ever Digital Screen Student Showcase 🎬
We’re so proud of the incredible work our students produced, from short films to animation, game art, and game development displays. Their creativity and storytelling talent lit up the Jack Mann auditorium.
It was such a special evening sharing their mahi with friends and whānau. Huge mihi to all the students who showcased their projects, you absolutely smashed it! 💛🙌

Join us as the phenomenal Tammy Williams leads this practical workshop that explores the collaborative process between camera operators, directors, and producers.
This session covers both the technical and creative sides, from building camera skills and confidence to negotiating visual storytelling decisions and finding pathways to experience. Whether you're a camera operator, director, producer, or wearing multiple hats, this is about understanding how to work together effectively to create compelling content.
Moderated by Vanessa Wells, using current industry standard camera gear thanks to South Island Cameras.

These UC Digital Screen students are interning with the Kiri and Lou team and loving every frame of it.
Through UC’s Work-Integrated Learning programme, they’ve joined Stretchy studio in Ōtautahi Christchurch, learning from Aotearoa’s top stop-motion creatives.
“The tools and teaching at UC are already really strong,” says Bayedan. “But being in a working studio takes it to the next level.”

There are a few ways you can connect with our Digital Screen team, and we’ll be scattered across the Ilam and Dovedale campus’s to help you with any questions you have! 🙋🏾
📍We will have a table at the info tent stalls, just look for the ‘Digital Screen’ banner, and you’ll find us!
📍Our Executive Dean will be giving a presentation about the Bachelor of Digital Screen with Honours degree at 12.00pm in the A1 lecture theatre. Make sure to register! 🎫
📍You can explore the Digital Screen facilities on the Dovedale campus anytime between 12.00pm - 3.00pm. Grab a map from the info tent, and follow the orange flags! 🚩 (approx 10 minute walk)
📍After the Digital Screen info presentation, you’ll be able to jump on the bus 🚌 at 1.00pm to Dovedale Campus if you wish, the bus will return to Ilam Campus at 2.00pm. This is optional, not compulsory. (No need to book for this)
📍Facilities include our Green Screen sound stage, Edit suites, Virtual Production sound stage, Recording studios, Post production labs and more!
