The future of advanced therapeutics in Western Canada is taking shape at UBC in Vancouver.
Currently under construction, The Edge will be home to Western Canada’s first Advanced Therapeutics Manufacturing Facility (ATMF)—a groundbreaking hub supporting the development of regenerative medicines, vaccines, and cell therapies for early-stage clinical trials.
On site, the tower crane is now up and running, and crews are actively advancing through the underground structure as the project continues to progress.
This six-storey, multi-use building will also bring two levels of new retail amenities to the community, including a grocery store, along with four floors of customized lab and office space designed to support researchers and biotech start-ups.

A new hub for health, learning, and community has arrived at University of British Columbia.
Gateway Health, which opened in late 2025, brings together the UBC School of Nursing, UBC School of Kinesiology, UBC Health, and UBC Integrated Student Health Services under one roof—creating a collaborative space for education, research, and well-being.
Located at University Boulevard and Wesbrook Mall, the building marks an important step forward for health and community at UBC.

Last week, our Senior Development Manager, Danny, led a tour of our recently completed projects: BCR6, Symphony, and Verve to all the members of our team.
Verve, now fully leased, delivers over 200 rental homes ranging from studios to three-bedroom units. Symphony introduces 157 air-conditioned rental residences, from studios to four-bedroom homes, exclusively for UBC faculty, staff, and their families.
With the completion of these two significant buildings, we are proud to mark one of the largest projects undertaken to date by UBC Properties Trust. This milestone was made possible thanks to the dedication of our entire team—from property management to marketing and development.
