Some projects pass. Some stay with you.
For me, the
@nikesb Dunk Low “Songkran” is one of those.
I heard about this almost 6 months ago when I first joined Nike. Back then it was just an idea. I quietly hoped it would happen… and that I could be part of it.
And it did.
This was never just a shoe. It is culture.
Knowing it was designed by
@heather.trng , with Lao roots, and inspired by
@erickoston made it feel real. Not inspired by Thailand. But truly from it.
Launching during Songkran, with details that feel so us, not a version of us, made me really proud.
We do not even have an SB team in Thailand or SEA. So this only happened because people believed. Thank you P Bee
@beee_pdh for that.
For me it was personal too. I grew up around hip hop and street culture, and being able to work on this with
@preduceshop @preduce_skateboards made it even more special.
From taking care of athletes to running everything on ground, this one was full on. Thank you
@ryanbobier @vtanderson @danny.supa
Even the small things like our sticky rice basket giveaway turned into something people were hunting for. That made me smile.
And yes… some people might think Dunk is over.
But on launch day, sold out globally in minutes. That felt good 🥹🌶️
This project reminded me that Thailand and Southeast Asia are not just a market. We are culture.
And when we shine, we really shine.
This one means a lot. And it is only the beginning.
Trust Nike. We are coming back. Just give us a little time 🤍
