And so, it begins…
Over the weekend, the new Uganda Advertising Association EXCO held its first strategy session, officially marking the beginning of its two-year tenure serving the industry.
Discussions focused on the current state of the advertising industry, identifying both urgent priorities and long-term opportunities that will shape the future of the profession.
The EXCO reaffirmed its commitment to building on the strong foundation and strategic direction established by previous committees, while bringing fresh energy, ideas and execution to the next phase of growth for the Association.
The next two years will demand bold thinking, industry disruption and the courage to challenge outdated ways of doing things, as the Association positions itself to help shape a more progressive, creative and commercially impactful future for the industry.
Exciting times lie ahead for the industry!

We have officially unveiled the New Executive Council, a dynamic team of industry leaders to drive reform, professionalization and growth for the sector.
Led by Chairman Peter Kazibwe and Vice Chairman Allen Ssempa, alongside a strong council drawn from across Uganda’s Agency landscape, the new leadership assumes office with the mandate to strengthen advocacy, elevate creative excellence, deepen industry collaboration and advance statutory recognition for the profession.
In his handover remarks, outgoing Chairman Rommel Jasi challenged the new council to build stronger coalitions across the marketing communications ecosystem and sustain the push for industry legitimacy and self-regulation. A charge the incoming leadership embraces fully.
Incoming Chairman, Peter Kazibwe says the industry has the talent, the ideas and the ambition, and this moment demands collective action to secure recognition, raise standards and position Uganda’s creative economy to compete globally.
As the home of the Silverback Awards and the voice of Uganda’s advertising fraternity, UAA remains committed to shaping the future of the industry through innovation, professionalism and partnerships.
We congratulate the incoming Executive Council and thank the outgoing leadership for their service. Here’s to building the next chapter together.

Uganda’s first Digital Marketers Roundtable was a reminder that marketing needs a reset.
It’s easy to think digital = social. But that’s only a small piece of the puzzle.
The real opportunity?
Understanding your audience.
Connecting the journey.
And using the right channels with intention.
A few takeaways that stuck with us:
• Social alone isn’t enough to reach your full audience
• Start with why before choosing platforms
• Results take time and data must fit the brand, not the other way around
At Phos Creatives, this is how we approach the work every day.
Strategy first. Then execution that actually connects.
Proud to have been part of this moment for the industry.
