Ya es hora. The perennially astonishing @european.poetry.festival kicks off on the morrow, and runs until 6 July. Dozens of visiting poets at the best edge of innovative literature endeavour, joining dozens more UK-based writers and performers for a celebration of innovative performance practice across the country. These are significant, oftentimes intriguing, always engaging and joyful, moments, worthy of anyone’s time and attention … and all free. Check out the programme and go to something, some things, if you can. It’ll be something, I assure you. Link in bio. Should you be inclined, I’m collaborating with festival newbie Christopher Horton @thepoetrysociety café, celebrating Estonian poets on their inaugural visit, on Monday 30 June. Might see you.

Excited there’ll be a brace of launch events for the Popogrou Anthology … the second takes place at OPEN Ealing, on Friday 18 October, 7pm, free. Do come along. It’ll be fun. This comes hot on the heels of the Kingston event and similarly features short live performances from around a dozen beautifully brilliant folk from the PoPoGrou collective, all of whom have work in the anthology. You’ll get to meet some more of my peeroes, including @beverlyfrydman @lauradavis1709 @lucyfurleaps @martybabytram @ailsaholland @bobbrightt @jules.sprake @cameronisdone @pialectics Patrick @lisablackwellwrite Lori Wike and SJ Fowler. I too shall be doing a turn.

I have just enjoyed the privilege of editing an anthology of poetry from my peeroes in PoPoGrou, a collective which has enriched my life and transformed my practice. The PoPoGrou Anthology is a showcase of innovative poetry practice at the growing edge of contemporary literature. It gathers language art, textual and visual poetry from nineteen active members of Popogrou – a worldwide collective emerging from writer and artist SJ Fowler’s online workshop programme, during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Hugely looking forward to launching the PoPoGrou Anthology at Kingston University Town House, Thursday 17 October, 7pm. Join us, it’ll be fun. This is the first of two launch events — the second takes place at OPEN Ealing the following evening (Friday 18th — details in comments). It’s been a huge privilege to have edited this showcase of innovative poetry practice at the growing edge of contemporary literature. It gathers language art, textual and visual poetry from nineteen active members of Popogrou – a worldwide collective emerging from writer and artist SJ Fowler’s online workshop programme, during the COVID-19 lockdown. The free launch event will feature short live performances from a dozen or so members of this generous, inclusive, unconventional and celebratory collective, including Vicki Kaye, Bob Brightt, Lucy Furlong, Martin Wakefield, Patrick Cosgrove, Laura Davis, Susie Campbell (Gideon Osborne), Stephen Sunderland, Cameron Wade, Lisa Blackwell and SJ Fowler. Also, me.

Presently, my debut poetry collection, was published a year ago … a moment upon which so very much turned. I am, presently, smiling somewhat. It’s been reprinted since, and you can pick up a copy on the link in my bio: #presently

Those who know me well will know what a perennial life highlight the Small Publishers Fair has been for me, and the part meeting some of the fabulous folk there has played in the evolution of my practice. You’ll also know how I might feel about playing a part in this year’s event … and how I’m being referred to in the programme. Brimful, me. #smallpublishersfair #bibliopoe
