A message to my friends and family.
Hi guys!
This feels a little bit crazy to share on social media on a random Friday, but I’ve been wanting to tell you something: I have cancer. After 4 chemotherapy sessions and a very promising PET scan, I’m ready to talk about it.
Stage II Classic Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is a type of blood cancer that affects the lymphatic system, which is part of the body’s immune system. The good news is it’s one of the most treatable cancers, especially when caught early.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing my journey – from diagnosis to treatment, and the ups and downs of day-to-day living. My goal is to open up about it and hopefully provide comfort to anyone who may be going through something similar. You’re stronger than you know; I definitely learned that this year!
A huge thank you to my family: Mom and Dad, who have never left me alone for a single doctor’s appointment, scan, or session. My Tita K, for always supporting me and helping me through treatment. My doctors and nurses, who work tirelessly and with so much care. My closest friends, who always think of me. And my work family, who help me succeed through it all.
My final message in this very short letter is to take care of yourself! Get your checkups and bloodwork done, keep your immune system strong, and remember that your health takes priority.
