We are lucky to be printing a book this week on precious Zerkall Paper. The mill in Germany suffered a terrible flood which forced its closure in 2021. Zerkall papers were popular with our customers for stationery when we first started printing commercially and their butter soft deckle edged envelopes were a dream. Stock is still available @johnpurcellpaper but now very limited.

We are very pleased to share news of @stjudes ‘The Art & Craft of Print’, opening at the beautiful National Trust Mottisfont in Hampshire on Saturday 9 May. Set within this remarkable house and its surroundings, the exhibition brings together the work of a number of contemporary printmakers working in Britain today, including Angie Lewin, Mark Hearld, Emily Sutton and Christopher Brown. It offers a chance to explore a range of printmaking approaches - from linocut and wood engraving, to screen print, letterpress & etching, and to consider the processes and experimentation behind each piece. To mark the exhibition, we created a limited edition wood type poster which will be on sale at the exhibition along with a selection of Justin’s prints. Alongside the prints, there are also displays of artist-designed textiles and wallpapers, reflecting the natural overlap between printmaking and everyday. Please note that entrance to the exhibition, held within the house at Mottisfont, is included with a standard admission ticket, or is free to National Trust members.

Luxury certificates of authenticity created for The English Distillery @englishwhisky once in a generation single malt release. The English Cask 001 2025. 18 years matured and only 60 bottles released worldwide. 🥃 We used @gmundpaper Cotton from @gfsmithpapers in Natural Beige 450gsm and printed with a combination of letterpress, hot foil stamping, embossing and finished with a custom die cut. Design by Benjamin Carr from @benjamincharles_studio who was a joy to work with, the certificates were designed to be mounted and framed for presentation within the bespoke collector’s box.

We found this photo flicking through the phone camera roll and think that maybe our daughter took it. We like it. We’ve been working together, running the studio for over 15 years. We love what we do and really proud of the work that we have produced. Most of all value the friendships that have emerged. In fact, we consider our regulars (and you know who you are) as family. Eleanor & Ivo 🩵❤️🩵 In early January we received an enquiry from Eleanor, who was getting married on 31 May and needed her invites by the end of February. We like to say yes. Eleanor was an absolute dream to work with. She had an idea and we helped her develop this to bring her invitations to life. It’s always such a privilege to work with couples and help them create probably the most important piece of stationery of their lives. We created a sculptural foil emboss of an Iris to the front of the folder and mounted the invitation to the inside right hand page. A pocket was created to hold additional invitations and inserts. We used @gfsmithpapers @colorplan_papers using a mixture of Azure Blue, Bright Red & Bright White. The mounted invitation also had a beautiful Coltskin embossed to create more texture and contrast. Designed in house by @justinknopp.work Folder, Invitation & Dance invite hot foil stamped with @foilcoltd foils. Details card letterpress printed.
