Please meet Barry White (
@typheadamus ), one of our featured artists for the Crowned by the Roots exhibition! What an honor and a blessing to have him and his work as a part of this exhibition.
Barry White is a South Carolinaâbased contemporary painter whose acrylic works center the beauty, strength, and vulnerability of Black men. Guided by intuition and emotion, Barryâs paintings explore themes of identity and self-acceptance through expressive realism and atmospheric color.
Barryâs work has been exhibited at Roc Bottom Studios, Drummond Studio Gallery, and Gemini Arts, where itâs been recognized for its depth, honesty, and visual storytelling. Through his art, Barry invites viewers to witness the sacredness of visibilityâto see Black men not as subjects of stereotype, but as embodiments of beauty, spirit, and truth.
Barry is one of our featured speakers during the Artist Talks! We look forward to hearing his insights and process.
Be sure to mark your calendars for the programmed events. We look forward to seeing you there!
