Broke down and made sure this little girl got her tree for Christmas. At Fra Mar Tree Farm in Hampstead, MD, there were, like, 15 Canaan fir trees to choose from! “Looks like we beat the rush,” I said to the proprietor. Now … to decorate. (I should be clear that this is early for us. We once cruised North Avenue in Baltimore on Christmas Eve, buying one from Santa himself. That was the last time I believed when Mary said, “Oh, it’s OK. We don’t need a tree this year.”)
