Ironman South Africa πΏπ¦
What a spectacular event and gruelling day! I canβt express how physically challenging that was. Definitely the most pain I have ever been in from sport but so rewarding in the end!
Managed an age group top 10 and sub 10h which I am happy with, even if I did overcook it and blow up heavily at 16km into the marathon ahaha π
Thanks to my family for putting up with me and throughout this long process, visiting me in Tassie, travelling with me to South Africa and getting me through the final block and taper. I would not have possibly been able to manage my life, have fun and reach the start line healthy and fit without you and I am so grateful for the help β€οΈ @turveycox@dave_chad@jarryd.cox
Thank you @felix_wernham for whipping me into shape and for all of the advice, sporting and otherwise, leading up to this day! Itβs been a long build with some heavy sessions and mentally tough days but thanks for challenging me. Thank you @andybrodziak for the initial call and helping me realise this dream, massively appreciated the support on the day!
Thanks everyone for all the support before and during the race, it meant a lot! So many people tuned in, so many kind messages, I feel I had a team with me throughout! In the tough moments, like battling unfavourable wind in swim and bike, dropping 2L of hydration 30km into the bike and walking in the marathon, I did not feel alone any step of the way! π
Onto the next π€
