Wrapped up spring semester at UVU. I’m quite proud of the amazing work the students did this semester and I’m especially excited for all the graduates from the photo program! They are incredibly talented and are the future of photography!
I’m posting this shot from a demo in my Lighting II class for a floral assignment, using lights with colored gels. Honored to cover for @johnreesphoto while he was on sabbatical and I know I’m no John Rees, but I absolutely loved every minute in the studio with that amazing class.
Florals for spring? Groundbreaking.

Part of our goal is to shine a light on mental health and humanize individuals not just as subjects, but as neighbors, family members, teachers, students — real people navigating complex, often unseen battles.

I had no idea when we made this move across the US, that I would start teaching photography on a university level starting in January. I have to say that I honestly loved it so much and the semester just flew by. The students in both of my photography classes are incredibly talented and it was inspiring to watch them expand their skills and really grow their talents. I am impressed with their incredible work and creative vision and wish them all the success as they carve their unique paths. The future is bright and full of endless possibilities!
Thanks for bringing me onboard @travlovell and for trusting me to develop the curriculum for an upper level course from scratch. It was a bit overwhelming, but so rewarding! A special thanks to @brenda.b.lovell for connecting the dots and seeing if I would be open to teaching at UVU and for showing me the ropes!
Emily embodies sunshine and joy. I couldn’t imagine anyone better to partner with to become parents. She’s an incredible mother and full of amazing energy and just so fun. Happy Mother’s Day!
