Small hiccup between Bells and Margaret River. I’ve had an MRI that found a small Labrum tear in my hip. Although there’s a chance that could have been new, I think it may have been overlooked from June last year. It definitely gives more context to the complexity and length of my recovery journey. Having irritated it recently required me to take a quick detour but I’m really looking forward to surfing again. My team and I will monitor as I get back in the water this week and look to compete at Snapper. @wsl@gracefulsociety
Through this off-season I’ve spent a lot of time redefining my mentality and approach for the 2026 season. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt truly solid and in sync with my mind and body in the performance space.
It’s not about getting back to where I was, it’s building the foundations so I can show up for myself in a more sustainable way while I compete.
I’m coming home to the original love of surfing I have within myself and the freedom and joy that has felt distant to me over the years.
