2 days back to back on these battle weapons. Christina sat like a champ and it made it a lot of fun to knock these out 2 days in a row. I don’t post much big work (or really any work at all 😂), but I love tattooing large projects as much as the tiny ones. I had a great time making this single needle sword and California poppies for Dani. Dani has a bunch of my favorite tattoos. I’m always interested in new projects, books are open for remaining August dates and September.

Thanks Katie for having me do this portrait of Bandit 🙏 Dog portraits are on of my favorite tattoos, it always nice to hear about people’s pets and their relationship. Single needle portraits can capture so much fine detail, but it’s all about starting with a great photo. Luckily Katie had some great photos to work from. Since I have a Pomeranian at home I love doing Pom portraits, but I love doing all breeds, cats, bunnies, and any pet you can think of ❤️

Super excited to finally do this dice eyes reaper off the @gtc_tattooman World’s Largest Flash Sheet. I’ve been wanting to tattoo this design for years ever since I first saw it and my great client Hannah picked it off the wall. I get asked a lot what my favorite things to tattoo is and it’s definitely classic flash designs. Getting to tattoo vintage flash is like a crash course in another tattooer’s thought process and will influence how you draw and design future tattoos. I recently made this single needle euphorbia for Katherine. It was great to recreate all the details in the euphorbia segments, and I also found out there actually not a cactus but a cactus-like succulent. Swipe for close ups. Thanks, Katherine! My books are open for cactus-like and non cactus related tattoos. Did you know these weren’t a cactus?

I had a great time making this @overkillofficial tattoo for Ant. Single needle tattoos are my favorite style to work in and getting to do a version of the Overkill logo was a lot of fun. I have been tattooing Ant’s family for 16 years so it was a cool experience to tattoo him now that he’s 18. Thanks Ant!! More skull tattoos?

I had a lot of fun redrawing and tattooing this Capricorn design from the @gtc_tattooman Charlie Cartwright’s World’s Largest Flash Sheet for Hannah. You may have noticed this sheet in the background of my recent tattoo photos. Getting to tattoo vintage and historical tattoo flash gives the artist an insight into how tattooers before them designed tattoos and I feel like I learn something everytime I have the opportunity to work this way. Getting to tattoo someone else’s flash is like a mini apprenticeship in their work and style at that time in their career. Learning from flash designed for busy shops also gives you an insight into how tattooer’s worked and can help your designs have an authentic look. This is the sixth tattoo I’ve done off of this sheet of more than two hundred designs, I’m looking forward to doing more. We have some great flash designs at the Eagle Rock shop and will be adding more soon. I am still recovering from surgery for throat cancer, but I’m slowly getting back to work. I made this single needle snake and rose tattoo for Amanda a few months ago. Snakes are always a fun challenge, I’m psyched on the end result of this project.
